    Your personal goals

Ok, working away at the bike tonight has really got me in the mood to ride my 1KRR... Since Grattan is going to be my first day at the track of the year I got thinking about what I want to accomplish this season at the track.

First and foremost for me(as should be for everyone) is being safe. Things have finally started to come "together" for me at work and otherwise and I don't want to screw it all up by hurting myself or worse yet the bike...

Secondly, I need to continue to work on my body positioning. I worked at it a lot last year and it(I feel) contributed the most to my riding last year. I think that good body positioning makes me a smoother and faster rider, not to mention helping in the control and function of my bike.

Third, Work on my corner speed and trail braking, once I get comforatable with how I am "fitting" on the bike this season I want to work on my corner speed and trying to get better at trail braking like I learned at spencers. Most times out there I feel like I am "parked" in the corners and I want to SAFELY bring up my entry/exit speeds as well as become more consistant with my lines.

Forth(ly) ride a few different bikes (jbd you listening?hahaha) I want to try a few different bikes(same as every year I have attended) It just gives me a good idea on what I like and don't like as well as helps me appreciate what I have.

Fifth, enjoy myself, as I get older(I am 29 now you know) I am starting to realize that I come to the track to enjoy myself and ride safely without harrasing the everyday public. I want to relax and have as good a time as I have in the past with the MCADX group... all with out having to worry about binning it or brining home a bunch of pieces of a bike. I am starting to realize that lap times are just a # and really in the end it means nothing to anyone but myself anyway.

Enough from me, What do you guys and gals want to work on/be better at/accomplish this year at our favorite track day this year?
    See you at GRATTAN

My number one goal this year is to make it there.
IF I make it there, I want to be the fastest guy on and off the track. Once that is accomplished, it should be easy for me, I want to make sure I can attend next year, which means no crashes of any kind this year.

    Sounds reasonable.

Juan I know that you are one of the fastest guys "off" track at grattan.

    1:17 here you come.

I am hoping that things fall into place for all who are really trying to make it. Be nice to have a little traffic this year.

Is it that obvious? Actually, I want to bring my bike home in one peice, get my lap timer to actually work, get 3 more days out of my rear tire, maybe 1 or 2 people I'd enjoy passing.. thats about it.

Safety and fun is a given.

I would like to hit a 1:33 or better and drop my average down to my previous best of 1:36. Ambitious and if I don't get there it is not a big deal. However I think I am leaving a bunch of time in #5 and even more from 8 into 10. Between those two places I think I can get an easy 2 seconds.

#5 is something I've already realized from last year to this. Deceiving it is. No need to jam on the breaks. Probably the biggest gain already for me.

Pretty much the same as it is every year. Try not to get lapped in any session by TornadoB8, Jetbdude, NorthernRR, evl_twn, or others.

Number one goal, as always, is to bring it all home in one piece.

Relaxing and having fun with McAdx folks is also right up there at #1!!!

Make sure Abtech stays for the bbq again, I think he enjoyed it last year!

Riding goals? Just to feel comfy on the bike. I've only had one day this year to start getting rid of the cobwebs and I was sore afterwards, in spite of working out. It'll take a few more trackdays to get those specific muscles up to speed. Hmm, I do need to work on corner entry speed, perhaps. Gotta keep reminding myself to look further ahead.

I would really like to try and put together a few consistant laps and come off the track saying to myself the was a flyer. Everything was fun and smooth. And I can't lie a better lap time coming from being smoother would make my day.

I just am tired of hitting a bump I wanted to go around or piss poor body positioning that I truly struggle with.

Most of all I really want to enjoy the good company

#1 Make sure Timmy makes it to the Track.
#2 Try not to get anything on Dave's bike
#3 Spend more time hanging out with y'all
#4 Get back on the bike: 5 mi last year TOTAL, and only 1 trackday since the highside. not really a scared to get back out there thing, just timing sucked last year (moved, new job, new home, remodeled old home.....etc.) so back into the saddle is good.

It's been 3 years since I've thrown a leg over a bike I own. No clue what kinda tricks my head will play on me but to say that I'm excited for the day is a serious understatement. No doubt I'll be pretty rusty but I hope to shake enough of it to be able to blend in with traffic and just have a good time.

Most importantly I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

hmm maybe just being comfortable on the bike. Gotta shake off the winter rust cause I've ridden about 100 miles so far this year and don't really see getting back on it before Grattan cause I have too much crap to do.

stop being such a bitch and carry more speed everywhere. Learn to use my brakes a little more because I basically brake in a straight line before the turn and usually brake too much.
