Who ever told you skinny LIED... hahaha
Far from it, trust me.
But I should have a mohawk again.
I am still trying to figure out what to declare at the border this year?
Maybe some mash? or perhaps some antacid? hahaha

Nope...not too late. Not time to pay yet but soon. This is the link to info on previous years.

Money isn't really the big issue with me getting to Grattan this year. I don't get vacation time from school in my third and fourth years. I'll be in the middle of a Surgery rotation during Grattan. If it was on a weekend I could maybe do it but I can't do weekdays. Or for example this weekend I'm also on call so had to do rounds this morning and tomorrow morning so this weekend would be out for anything like that. I was also planning on going to the motorcycle show in Minneapolis on the 14th and 15th of Feb but I'm on call that weekend too

You can do one, two, or three. Last year I did two.

I have not herd of a pay plan yet but I expect soon (hopefully) There is some that do one day in the past and most do 3 (for some like me the travel distance would make one day silly).
Hopefully the announcement for where to send $$ will happen soon and we can sellout Or at least get more of you slackers this year. Every year I have attended there was a ton of track time and open track but last year it was almost to open (when have you ever said that on a track day?)

No joke, there were times when as far in front of me as I could see, and quick peeks behind, and I couldn't see a single other bike on the track.

never enough time. I think I skipped one session last year but made it up by doing a couple of double sessions to film some in the street group.

Lunch time does not qualify as track time

In my sessions I frequently saw Jetbdude, Evl_Twn and NorthernRR, among others, quite a good distance in front of me, with me trying desperately (and ultimately in vain), to catch them, or alas, avoid being lapped by them.

It does if you're two-up...but my comment still stands. There were sessions where I never saw another bike anywhere near me. We didn't all run in a crazed pack like ya'll in the "fast" group.

Hey, I'd be more than happy to let you get on the phone with my clinical coordinator and explain why I need three days off.

I really can't imagine riding every session for 3 days. Really every other session would be fine. For me getting tired and trying to ride 100% is a bad combination.

I'll talk to him if you want. Really though.. its a means to bettering yourself then it is what it is. Just a bummer. Next year maybe. By then you should have the motard all done up...

Heck the motard will be all done up by the end of Feb, all the parts are either here or in transit.
As far as Grattan goes it could be quite a few years because after this year then I start residency, which could be even worse as far as free time goes. I knew it was last year or nothing. That's why I worked so hard to get there last year. But yes, it does come down to me bettering myself, med school blows but the work can be pretty rewarding.
After residency though, I'll be there. <---- remind me in a few years that I promised.

Honestly will you will run every session in 3 days, trust me, I never thought that 3 days could hold that much track time but really it's pretty much open. run ,like you feel comfy and go from there... best track experiance possible. thanks frank.

I remember it a bit differently. there was one constant in pretty much every session and it went like this: some guys would come around me and I would think "ok there's Brian, E, Brian, where's... oh there's Rob" you can switch the names to any order you want but it was always the same, me getting lapped once per session by you guys. I'm happy it was only once a session though.

well it wasn't every session. it was every other because of the half hour rotations. Sometimes I missed a few minutes at the beginning either because I was in no hurry to get out there or I was waiting for my gear to get back in from the track. I just ran for awhile and if I was tired I came in and rested for a session. My job gives me a "workout" that is actually perfect for keeping in shape for riding. Before I ever did a track day people always told me I'd be tired and sore after 3 days straight. not really. a little tired but that was mostly from being up different hours of the day than normal. If there are some days the weekend before the event I might try to do them too.
