Take a look through the threads from last year's event. That should give you a good idea: MCADX Days at Grattan - 2008 - MotorcycleAddicts.org
The FAQ is here: http://www.motorcycleaddicts.org/mca...an-2008-a.html
Pricing for this year hasn't been announced yet.

That's what is so funny about it.
Normally those guys look a small step above catatonic, I think the most human commentary I've ever had was "welcome home". (though when I couldn't remember all the countries I'd been in the last week once had one chewing my azz)
I could just picture one waking up with Jet freaking out...shit I'm laughing out loud as I type again.

anyword on dates for Utah yet? I REALLY want to do the double this year. Some extra time to get holidays, finances and other track related crap taken care of would be great.
They still doing the bike rentals down there?

I should be there in 2 or 3 days. Not sure yet. Wife has limits you know.

No word on Miller trackdays yet. However, I highly recommend coming down for WSBK weekend. We'll be there again for sure. It's May 28-31. Last year Apex did a trackday the day after. Hopefully that'll happen next year as well. And yes, Utah Sportbike Rental is still renting.

I'm planning on finally making it to this event this year, I finally get that extra week of vacation this year and this is going to be what I use it for. I'm also going to throw out that I'll win the closeness to the track award....from the time I leave my house to the time I pull in to the parking lot is only 30 minutes, and that includes a stop at the gas station and a trip through the drive through.

I've actually stood at the end of the straight in the parking lot and watched for a few minutes at previous events. Unfortunately I couldn't get away from work for much longer than that and didn't get to come in and meet anyone. I'm definately going to make it happen all three days in 2009.
As far as party at my place on Wednesday night that won't work since that's bicycle racing night at Grattan and I plan on being there for that as well.
On a side note, does anyone have a good recomendation for DOT Race tires? I'm planning on moving to them for trackdays next year and am not sure which way to go. I've heard good things about the Diablo Supercorsas and the Pilot Race tires but am unsure which compounds to use. I'm also not opposed to Dunlops or Bridgestones but don't know anyone that has any experience with them. Thanks for the input.

I have used the BT002RT and while I like them that is not what you are looking for from the sounds of it. Got some BT003's sitting in the garage waiting for use (might mount them this weekend) Have used the slicks and will use them most of the time from here out (got the 003's when they were out of soft fronts)

Whats the difference between those (bt003's) and supercorsa's?

Age of bike + rider = 78 !!
If Race Tire Service attends again as they have the last few years, they offer smoking deals on Dunlops.

brand
Yes on CBRVFRs comment I have run D208 (prefer 190's so wasn't wild about them) and D209s (good tire) also. My choice on Bridgestone was as simple as I was running BT002RT and could sample slicks without resetting stuff (and sheep are LAZY critters...even the blue ones )

I asked the tire question back a while ago. Going into the question I had a pretty good idea on what I wanted. After I changed my mind about 6 times, and was confused as heck. I've come to the conclusion after researching tires for about a year... all the top tire manufacturers (as least the top 4-5) have a good track tire you'll be happy with. You won't find anyone that has been disappointed in the Supercorsa's. They are a great track tire. However the downside is 1. They are almost twice as much as other tires you would probably be happy with. 2. You can't use them on the street. 3. They need to be used with tire warmers. The Pilot race are good too, but more “out of style” so to speak. The Pilot 2c’s are a really good tire as well. The BT 003's sheep mentioned seem to be good track tires. (I believe right now at www.motorcyclesupertore.com they are $100 off as well) A lot of people like Dunlop’s. The D208's are probably a more aggressive street tire, with the D209's being a better choice for a track tire. Also these tires through the site ( race tire service www.dunlopracing.com ?) are probably the best bang for the buck. Several people like the Diablo Corsa III's as well. They have a harder center strip, and better water gallies that go through the end of the tire. I however wear out the sides, and don't ride in the wet, so it isn't a big bonus for myself. The questions you have to ask yourself is which brand do I like, how much do I want to spend, and what is the sole purpose of the tires? I've been meaning to start up a tire pole for the track to see what people are mostly using but I'm suspecting the Dunlop’s. Personally for next season I’d like Supercorsa’s, but not sure if I’m willing to pay the price. The BT003’s might be the winner, or 209’s.

D209s work great on the track and for $300 a pair you can't go wrong.

Apex still doesn't have their schedule up yet. I'll e-mail them and ask.
