Well, the story starts a couple weeks ago. As some of you know I went to Puebla, Mexico for a last minute "pack-your-bags-you're-leaving-tomorrow" kinda job. So I went and as usual, even though I was very careful with the food and only drunk bottled water, I came back with diarrhea. Damned Moktezuma...
That, added to the "shitty", pardon my punt, trip from Puebla to Ft. Worth on Friday, then the trip from Ft. Worth to Grattan, and the activities of the day on Monday, seemed to all have caught up with me at that particular corner. I've reviewed it in my mind many times. I was doing fine. Actually, I was doing great. All the sudden, I went straight where I was supposed to turn in to the right. Time slowed down and I remember thinking "I should have turned back there." Immediately I went into "crash saving mode." Heighten heart beat, wide open eyes, time slowed down even more... Within a few milliseconds I was on the grass and I knew nothing was going to stop me from hitting the tires at the end of the run off.

In hindsight, this was a very easy-to-avoid crash. I even think I missed two opportunities to avoid it. One when I did not turn in when I was supposed to, and the other when even after not having turned it I kept going straight for the tires instead of turning even if it was not the optimal line to follow for the turn. I could not react in time.

In a few words, I was too tired but I did not realize it until it was too late.
I was not dehydrated, I don't think. I was drinking water by the gallon and some Gatorade. But I must admit, I might have been more tired than I thought. All the excitement of the day came down on me like a wall of truck tires filled with dirt.
Next year I'll make a better effort to pay more attention to my physical state at all times.
You guys saved my trip. Again, I can't thank you all enough.

And again, glad you are OK. And I am not being mean , Just have not seen that before. The track can and will bite you if you are not ready. Better luck next year.

I think it was after DaveF left the track or at the end when Toga Tim and I were being camera hogs. The pass was pretty close most of us jumped when we saw it on the pc at the track.

Yeah man. I appreciate your and everyone else's concern. It's not my first crash. Probably not the last one either. Just keeping up with the Catalan tradition.
Next year I'm probably bringing my own back up bike. Hopefully a CRF450 sumo or a Husky Sumo. That's the plan at least. We'll see.

yeah you had come around me one time and I struggled to even keep you in site for the lap. I remember thinking "he must have done some more trackdays cause I don't remember him being this fast last year"

I made it into a shot with the fast guys. I prefer to think I'm catching up although in reality it was they just passed me. Sucks my bike started making some noise and I had to pull off cause they woulda pulled me into the high 1:30s I think.

anytime. the videos where there's no one in the shot are kinda boring. That one of you and Tim is probably the best one and I'm not even in it till the end after you guys leave.
