Grattan Bound

This year, the McADX days Grattan event coincides with our week-long family vacation. So let's see: Motorcycle, leathers, gas, tools, and stands - Check. Bicycles, kiddy trailer, suitcases, and picnic cooler - Check.

Wow, is all this stuff going to fit in our truck? The answer, my friends, is 'barely'.

So take a couple of minutes from your busy prep schedule and post a picture of your Grattan conveyance.

Just remember that you always come back with more stuff than you left with. So if it barely fits now...

I need to get busy, so far I have only managed to change the brake fluid and wash the bike. Everything else needs done.

Nah, we take our time going out and we'll stop somewhere in Ohio for Saturday night. Then Sunday we'll arrive around noon, shop for BBQ food, check in, then drop the trailer at the track Sunday around 6.

Can't wait... Shouldn't be much to packing and repacking, lots of room in the trailer yet. we'll just have to figure out if we want the motard in the back of the truck or in the trailer... after you ride it around the block a couple of times of course...

I am going for a bicycle ride tomorrow am weather pending, so what time do you figure you'll be here?

Hey, everyone!
Rachel and I are going to make it to Grattan...but probably not until Monday morning.

I wanted to leave early on Sunday, but she has a graduation party she swears she can't miss, so the goal is to leave by about 7pm on Sunday and drive straight through the night, hopefully arriving sometime on Monday morning. (Caffeine and chocolate...that's my plan!)

Safe travels, everyone!

You don't know how happy you just made Paige!!! Glad to hear you'll both be able to make it this year! I've been busy doing laundry and packing us up (no bikes makes Firefly a sad girl...but sure does make the prep work easier) so that we'll be ready to head out around noon time tomorrow. I'm not sure of the exact plans, but I think we're driving straight thru with a lot of breaks in between. We'll see everybody soon!

The keg of root beer is in the truck right now! The fuel tank is full. The trailer is attached and ready to go. Lights work. Written directions and maps are ready in case Garmin has a hissyfit.

I'm doing mirrors, license plate, and loading tonight. I've already had a test run on the sidestand so I'll do that at the track! We'll be in Milwaukee Saturday and cross the lake Sunday in time to get to the track by 6. Like HG2 we'll do some shopping and whatnot before. I hope Belding has lots of ice! The plan is to unload and get the wheels off so I'm golden Monday morning!

At least that's the plan.

You guys have a safe journey...and we'll see you soon.

I found a new one I like the flavor of better...Mad Croc. I used to drink the low cal Rock Star, but the Mad Croc is similar, but better. Mmmmm...caffeine!

Safe travels, everyone, see you soon!

I'm taking my bike up to TogaTim's tomorrow and then we'll leave Sunday morning. I'm not sure when we'll hit the track since he's going to visit friends in Grand Rapids. I'm leaving the bike street ready for now since I'm only riding Tuesday and Wednesday. I figure I can use it for a little 'touring' on Monday if I want that way.

I'm camping at the track so I'll be around. I plan on hanging out at the track most of the day.
