Race Tire Service/Dunlop Racing!!!!!

The crew from Tennessee will be handling tire sales/service and mounting again this year. A special offer for all entrants that purchase tires at the event (or pre-order for the event) is a free Dunlop Racing T-Shirt.

For more information or to pre-order, contact Steve Brubaker at 1-800-772-8473 or visit their website at Welcome to Dunlop Racing Tires.

The 209s are awesome.......

I hear the 211s will blow them away... but I will stay with the 209s since they are quite a bit cheaper.

The 209's N-Tech Tornado is referring to are now called the 211. I'm still running the regular 209's..... will give the 211 a try at Grattan just for fun

The D209 JLB (jointless band construction) are US made tires and stamped as such on the sidewall. The D209 JLB are great tires for the $. The 209/211 N-Tec are made in Great Britain and are by far the best tires I've raced on to date. Of course tire choice is very subjective, but it would take a VERY convincing reason for me to switch to anyhing other than Dunlop now.

Do the prices on the website include mounting and balancing if we buy trackside, or pre-order?

Steve was not there last year. Tom was the tech there last year. He lives just north of me.

Both as long as you let them know you are getting them mounted at the event (if you pre-order). Don' worry, just bring the bike as is. There will be plenty of help to get them off and back on . . .

I figured Steve was not coming this year himself either. But regardless of who comes I hope they get some seat time

Just got off the phone with Tom. He will be the tech for this year again (same guy as in 2007). He is looking forward to it, he had to leave early last year but he is doing the whole event this year. He will be posting later though. But he did say if there was any special requests of compounds or sizes to let him know ahead of time and he will see what he can do to get those for us.

I talked to them earlier and they said I could either buy a pair and have them shipped or just buy them off the truck. One less thing to worry about before leaving I guess.

Except, when are they planning on arriving? Are they going to be there to mount some new rubber before we start? Not sure if my front is good for any more laps after 3 days at Grattan last year.

Steve mentioned there is a strong possibility that they may be able to arrive Sunday late afternoon and open for business for a couple of hours. Remember, we won't be able to get into the paddock until after 5:30, so this may or may not be feasible.

Would we be allowed to setup a temporary spot for the tire truck in the parking lot up front by the pool?

Awesome, these guys were GREAT to deal with last year. So happy I don't have to bring the no mar and associated hardware. you can trust these guys with your rims. Just don't expect the weights to stick... hahaha That may be a one off.

Just borrow some pink duct tape from that French-Canadian redneck.

Well now that I've sent in a deposit I have to do something with tires. The two options that I'm considering are to:

1. Just order a new set of pilot powers, have them fitted right before I head out, I've found them shipped for $256
2. Find a take off that will get me by until I get to Grattan and then have a set of D208GP-A's fitted at the track. $249 Specials on Dunlop Racing Tires

Anyone see a distinct advantage either way? I'll only be riding one day.
