I would absolutely LOVE to and even did some back of the envelope number crunching. But unless I can "truck & trailer pool" w/ someone it ain't gonna happen. Ideally the wife and I would rent a Toy Hauler and make the trip, but gas alone in something like that would be the cost of a plane ticket. Then the rental ain't that cheap to boot. Plus it would take us a few days to get out there and back and...

Well, the list goes on. I guess I could just come out and watch. The wife would still enjoy that. Maybe I'll look into it.

If it was two weeks later I would be there for sure. I'm officially taking my boards on June 14th. After that I have six weeks until I start my first rotation. Grattan could be a possibility now but Miller would be a better choice since it is on the way home to Idaho and my wifes family is in SLC now.

Just a heads-up to those of you thinking of coming out for to Miller for Labor Day weekend. There are three days on the FULL track available this year, through two very reputable trackday providers.

I noticed last night that someone is buying up a bunch of slots on Saturday and Sunday (not sure about Monday). The Keigwin trackday website (Keigwins@theTrack) shows confirmed reservations. They do allow you to reserve a spot with just a $100.00 deposit, and you can get a refund if you give them two weeks notice.

If you're thinking about it, you might want to sign up and pay the $100 deposit to reserve your spot.

I'm not sure of the status of the Apex (Monday signups). They don't show the confirmations on their site. They also don't have the same deposit/refund policy as Keigwin.

Wokstar can't make it so I have an extra ticket... ERDA grandstand and paddock pass for Saturday and Sunday. Cost $120.

What is the schedule at Miller like between June 15th and July 15th? I will most likely be in the area during that time.

Apex has a trackday on the West track on 7/13. There is also an open trackday there for bikes on 6/20, just before our race weekend on 6/21-6/22.

I haven't heard of any plans yet, but I know there were quite a few people coming in from out of town for those dates, so hopefully something will happen. I'll let you know if I hear of anything.

I'm hatching a scheme..... There is a PTT track day at Thunderhill on the 3rd. According to Google it's 10 hours drive from SLC..... finish our apex day a bit early, load up and drive through the night to t-hill... catch a few hours sleep and do the track day the next morning.

    Is that completely ridiculous?

You could do it, for sure. And as far as you're driving down, I don't blame you for wanting to work as much track time in as possible. It'd be better if there were two days at T-Hill, IMO, but if you could also then work a day in at Laguna Seca, hey, why not?

You did notice that the 6/3 T-Hill date is a school, not just a trackday, right? https://www.pacifictracktime.com/ptt...roducts_id=145. That could be pretty cool, both for learning T-Hill and improving skills, although it's a little more $$$.

I'd think a better option for you would be to go to T-Hill on the way down, to the Keigwins dates on 5-26, and 5-27 (Mon/Tues). That gives you all day on Wed to travel to Miller for the races. Two days in a row at Thunderhill, with a very good provider - I think you'd have a BLAST, if you can work your schedule that way.

Hadn't realized it was a school... That's definitely interesting. I don't know if I could work it to go to the earlier days... We had planned on driving down to Miller on Friday the 30th, taking in racing saturday and Sunday, track days monday weds, thurs, then going home friday the 6th.

If we wanted to make the 5-26 and 5-27 dates at t-hill, we'd have to leave the morning of Sunday the 25th and wouldn't get home until late tuesday night on the 2nd. That's 8 days I'd have to take off work as opposed to 5.

Ahh, I was thinking you'd be at the races all four days. Thunderhill is a really fun and interesting track. I think you'd really enjoy it. I just know when I make a long road trip I try to get at least two days of riding for all that driving cost and time. Plus, on any new track I think it takes a day just to figure it out, and then it's nice to have another day to try to set the lap record.
