It was a great day today, in so many ways. We had a blast from start to finish. A few little raindrops in the morning sessions, but then it got sunny. Everyone rode well and really improved through the day.
At lunch several of us went over to the "Clubhouse" - a nice restaurant/pub that gives a great view of the whole track. About 1:30 all of a sudden there was this huge thunderstorm with a torrential downpour (see the photos), which was bizarre since we haven't seen rain here all year. It lasted about 15 minutes or so, and really soaked the place, with a fair amount of standing water on the track.
When they called us for the next session, not too many people were eager to go out, as it was so wet on the track (even though it became sunny again). I grabbed the Aprilia supermoto and decided to go have some fun in the puddles. It was pretty fun, although I was crawling through the turns. In the back straightaway section I was doing about 90, and started to slow for the upcoming turn, being careful to be very smooth. A little too hot into the turn, and before I knew it I'd locked up the rear and skidded straight off the track into the dirt. So I did a little motocrossing, got back on the track, and did a few more laps.
In the next session the track totally dried out, the weather got really hot, and we were all flying around once again. Everyone got plenty of riding in, and all were pretty tired, but ready for tomorrow. Apex threw us a nice little barbecue, and then tonight a bunch of us joined BDA116 at a pub/restaurant in downtown SLC, where FrenchieR6 did her second pole dance of the day.
Tomorrow it's the FULL track, which will be awesome. Happy Labor Day! Wish you were here!

Peter, you would have loved it. We may have to arrange a stunt double for your wife to nag while you go to a few of these things...
All over, all is well. Crash's friend had a minor lowside, no injuries. other than that the motorcycleaddicts fared much better than the hayabusa riders club.. there was a bit of attrition there, but I have to tip my hat to those guys for coming out. I saw several dragging knees. While I passed them.
Surprisingly, few of them fully lit the fuse going down the 3/4 mile straight.. turn one was too intimidating at 180, apparently.
Got to see BDA116 ride Koolwhip's 600rr. He was fast, even while giving the finger to a couple of idiots who exited the track abruptly and without warning. There goes the impostor theory.
A great event, and one that you all should consider attending.
Thanks to BWhip for arranging this. It was memorable and tons of fun.
Now we're going to get cleaned up and party. I want to be looking and feeling my best when the shuttle takes me to the airport at 4:40 am

Pack before you go party. Then after partying, take a shower and put on the clothes you're going to wear on the plane. This way, you can wake up at the exact last second and jump on the shuttle

Yeah, that's right. I've got lots of practice.
Just have the party on the shuttle.
Those drivers can be a blast!
Glad you all had a safe and fun time!

Can't write much now as I'm in the midst of the six hour drive home, but I do just want to say thanks so much to everyone who came out. I hope it was as much fun for all of you as it was for me. I had a blast hanging out with you and riding on that incredible track! What a great bunch of friends you are, and some excellent riders, too.
Full report and lots more photos soon. Wish you all could have been here!
It was very nice meeting you all. Well, alright...............most of you. That Pelosi loving midget I can do without.
Kidding, man. Oh yeah, it is that crazy Canadian that wrecked my Pitster that is the real problem child. It's gonna cost me a whole clutch lever to get it back into shape. Damned leafs.
Whip is still a very good man, and did a good job getting things set up for all travelers. He was also kind enough (evil enough?) to tempt me many times and I took him up on the generous offer. A year of no sportbike riding can make the first couple laps a bit odd, but after that it was a riot.
Throwing your hand up and exiting the track 20 feet from pit in is just plain stupid, FYI.
Dinner last night was nice and relaxed, no gay waiters flirting with one of our members, not too crazy, just laid back and nice - well, except that one crazy chick with the motormouth.
By the way, after getting her knee down from the passenger seat today she disappeared. Hope she's alright.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government.
Where to start…
I came back to my room around 9pm after staying behind and hang out with Shane Turpin and friends for a cookout, talking about race bikes, track, body position, and funny stories. I had some good laugh.
Bwhip, Thank you so very much for putting this event together. I had a wonderful time and I will definitely come back for more (this time with my bike)
What can I say about this place that all of us already mentioned. The track, facility, hotel, and of course the view (I can’t say enough about the view), everything was great. For me the view was extremely awesome. To seat there and look at the track with a background like this was really great.
I never once worried about my time and really not sure I did so good but considerate I had a rental which next time I will bring my own cause I worried too much on taking it back home if I crashed, I had an amazing time.
I have to say that my 2up with Shane Turpin was the most exciting thing I did in a long time. We both had our knee down in turns and passed people like they were just stopped. I had a blast doing this and we decided that we should start a 2up race J it was nice coming from him that I was an awesome passenger who wasn’t afraid on getting it down with him in turns. WHAT A RUSH!!!!!
It was so nice to see some of you guys again and to meet new ones. By far the Org Is part of my daily life and considerate family. Thanks for all of you that came and make this day even better because you were there. (A personal thank you to Jessica it was nice to have you around to talk too)
Here’s few pictures…It’s going to be hard going back to flat Findlay Ohio tomorrow.
Made it to Idaho Falls at 11ish sheep time. Not much on the trip other than getting here.
3 days of GREAT riding. I didn't go out the last two sessions as I was getting tired fast and having a hard time breaking into the hairpin then getting turned Time to call it 3 excellent days. Running Saturday really helped when I hit the full track since I had been on both halves. I was actually riding decent and destroyed the brand new BT002ST over the three days
Thanks Bwhip for the advice and all the tows Sorry you had to see the sheeply entrance on that one turn though, but I did recover well
Thanks for the Maple Syrup Phobe
Tomorrow Yellowstone then I am not sure as I might need to cut things short and get home quicker. If not then four corners.
