Re: FAQ for Grattan 2007
So, i want to know where the party is: The campers at the track, or the Candlestone!
Are there any extra curricular activities that we can discuss in a public forum?
Anybody bring guitars or anything?

I don't know about the 'Stone. I've heard bad things about it and I'll have my wife with me. She doesn't really appreciate cheap hotels like I do.
We're leaning towards the Radisson and the bar there.

Re: FAQ for Grattan 2007
Well, the night we do the BBQ at the track, the party's there.
The Candlestone has a bar for a nightcap. When we get there Sunday we hang out at the picnic table and have a brew.
I hear there have been parties at the Radisson!
The Radisson is a much nicer place to stay, but I like the Candlestone because it's close to the track and is $50/night.
There will be plenty of folks staying at one or the other, so the party's where you make it!

If I have everything set up the way I want by then, I will be sleeping in the bunks in the NEW 7x14 trailer... Pulled behind the NEW truck...at the track
I just gotta make it happen now, no big deal...now where did I put that burried treasure map?

Nice! What truck are you getting?
And Sheep is right, after a full day of riding, I'm usually asleep before any parties would start. Unless SPEED is there and wakes me up and "makes" me come down to the bar!

If there is any way you can swing it on a tow vehicle go 3/4 ton. I like my GMC but which it had a bit more capacity and power (I got a '00 1500 with the small V8)

I am going to be looking at a 2004-2005 truck with the 5.3 so I am going to be "close" to 300HP... that should be enough...
I will only be pulling a 7x14 enclosed aluminum(if I am lucky) and a pair of sportbikes and gear.
I will likely try a "Test tow" before I do anything too crazy... But thanks for keeping an eye out for me Oh wooly one...

Good to know, how do you find the 7x14 size wise? would htere be enough room for it filled with the bikes and maybe a couple of bunks(what I have planned for mine)

All interested,
I offered it up before since I was at FT Rucker (20 minutes away from Baxley) and I'll offer it up again. If you get the necessary group buy together, I'll order them for you. That gives free shipping to me plus my 10% military discount. Even if I can't make it myself, I can drive them up to Hammer or someone passing through my way can pick them up and drop them off at Grattan.

Re: FAQ for Grattan 2007
I remember that offer (witch is very cool BTW) but I still think it's a lot of trouble for what YOU end up getting. For it to be worth it you have to bring 12 units to Grattan. That's A LOT of trailer space!!!!!
265$ shipping included is a GREAT deal. If you do put a group together I'm gonna be in, but think about what you getting in to!

Not sure about the bunks, as I haven't done that. I'm guessing they would be on hinges and fold up against the wall when not in use? If so, if you had one on each side, you'd lose a foot or so on each side? Just guessing. That would make your 7' foot wide more like 5 or 6' then? Not sure.
I have shelves up front, that are about 2 feet wide, that hold all the chairs, canopies, tools, tie downs, air pig, etc. Then there are the two sportbikes side by side. Behind them is the Zuma scooter (pit bike) put in horizontally (perpendicular to the bikes), strapped down by pushing the front tire against the wall. (It's light so it stays put). Plenty of room for all that. If the front wheel scooter was parked between the other 2 bikes, there'd be even more room on the sides for stuff. We have hooks on the wall to hang the leathers. There's a diamond plate box mounted outside on the tongue for the gas cans, so they don't stink up the inside.
The last time we came to Grattan we brought a friend, so we had 3 bikes, spare rims, grill, 3 people's gear. Some was in the truckbed. Plenty roomy.

There's a helipad at Miller. And a couple bases nearby where they fly those squidlychoppas out of.
