How not to enter Turn 3 at NHIS

This gentleman was transported after the fact with a concussion. Hope he's doing better.

From the first shot you know he's not going to make that one.

Great series dude!

Re: How not to enter Turn 3 at NHIS

Was looking down toward the pavement and into the tire wall, target fixation, when he washed the front. Happens a lot in turn 3 as there is heavy braking involved before you commit to the turn and it's kind of bumpy there.

Looks like he was not off the bike enough, and exceding the tires lean angle, too.

Well to me anyway, someone who knows how to do that

Re: How not to enter Turn 3 at NHIS

I may be wrong here but I think he was leaning off too much. He wasn't going nearly fast enough in the corner for that sort of lean angle (most of which is the result of being about to crash, I think.)

Exactly. He sure does appear to be in love with his gas tank.

Not hanging off enough = leaning the bike too far and hitting hard parts.

Re: How not to enter Turn 3 at NHIS

where are the shots of the first instructor stopping then the second instructor almost stopping and me almost hitting him because you aren't suppose to stop when someone goes down?

I was about 30 feet behind this guy when it happened. not a pretty site. I already was pretty intimidated by that turn before this. hopefully NH has some shots of the time I ran really wide there.

no more C group for me, that was crash/offroad city.

The instructors always stop to check on riders and help clear the track.

I actually didn't get any shots of you almost binning it in 3 as I was getting ready to help you out of the tire wall.

Re: How not to enter Turn 3 at NHIS

It sort of looks like he had a lot of lean angle with some late additional steering input causing the front to break traction.

Excellent pics, NH...send him a link to the proofs!

it was mostly the second instructor stopping that kind of ticked me off a bit cause he didn't really stop off the line. but nothing worse happened so its alright.

well in that case it never happened. must have been someone else that looked like me that almost binned it there.
