The garage is a mess right now cause the wife is parking her truck in there for the winter.

If you click on the bottom photo you can see the SV is sitting on a wooden work table, I hate crawling around to change oil on a bike.

Re: Photos of my New ride (KTM 450 SMR)

I don't know if they are MFers to service I have heard that the oil changes suck. They do have 2 oil screens and 2 oil filters.

They have "Y" rockers that open the valves so I don't think they have sims under buckets so the valve adjustment should be at the end of the rocker. I could be wrong I have not spent to much time with a service manuel yet.

Re: Photos of my New ride (KTM 450 SMR)

Actually oil changes are pretty simple. There are two screens but all you have to do is drain the pan. Lay the bike on it's side and pop off the screen covers, take out old filters, replace with new ones, place covers back on and stand bike back up.

Takes about 20 mins. All you need is a 12mm and an 8mm box end and you're set.

Do you clean the screens every oil change?

Re: Photos of my New ride (KTM 450 SMR)

No, about every third. The only dirt my bike sees, is from the very short mx sections of the track. If I took it out the desert every weekend, I would probably do it every time. I have found KTM's to be very bullet proof and othewise rugged if you should miss a change here or a cleaning there.
