But this one she actually liked. Unfortunately she didn't get attention she should from me, and a good friend of mine was missing his KLR (ahem, sold it to me a few years ago ). So today was a bit of a reuniting I guess.
For me it was sad, but I knew it needed to occur. The $$ from the sale I can use tomorrow, but having a GS and a KLR in the garage was rather redundant for my need. I kept doing stuff to the KLR (jet kit, valve adjust, springs, brakes, lines, skid plate, new bars) to make it appeal to me once again and still it just sat there. I got it running this am and whipped it around the yard just enough to almost shed a tear when I was helping load it on his truck later. Oh well. At least she'll be in good hands with hopefully many more miles.
Be well my ex-klr.

The Seamii are awesome.
I was about to ask if you only hung out with people who own Ridgelines....but then I realized I don't have one. I must be the token "non RL owner," huh?

This does not mean you can talk me into getting a GSA, just so ya know!

I keep thinking a KLR will be the bike to get me back into riding. There are some amazing deals on nicely upgraded used ones.
I won't tell you what I sold this for as he got the buddy deal but suffice to say I probably could have listed it for 3200$ and had it gone within a week for the full asking.
Bone stock was fun. After all the stuff I did to wake it up and slow it down it was like riding a big somewhat cushy dirtbike that you could take onto the highway and go put 400 miles on in a day. The dude that bought my old 97 KLR sold it and bought a new 2008, he said it was totally different powerwise and got a good dose of juice. Then he decided to toss a 685 kit in it and it was silly.
The amount one can learn on a bike like this is really amazing. It changes your perspective on riding as a whole. I highly recommend it. If it wasn't for the KLR I'd have never tried a GS and wouldn't have that bigass grin on my face everytime I leave the garage. Not that any bike doesen't do that...but as it was with the KLR some years earlier...anyroad, any place, anytime, just go where the GPS tells you to and don't worry about it.
