Just a follow up comment. I didn't run into anyone at Stagecoach that I recognized as coming from this forum, but there were 400 or so riders there in Stockton Alabama from all over. There were some IBA types and some HSTA people there, and gosh knows who. Not as many vintage bikes this time as usual, although there was a guy there with a really sharp looking 1970 Moto Guzzi.

I rolled out of Johnson City, Tennessee at 2:00 a.m. sharp on December 27, spent about 2 hours at Stockton, kicked some tires and had a nice buffet lunch, got home about 11:15 p.m. and rode 1174 miles in the process. Nice little ride to wrap up the year.

Somehow I missed this thread. Dangit.

I could have used a few hours away from "the family gathering".

This year, Stagecoach is on December 30, at the Stagecoach Inn in Stockton, Alabama. They are going to open for breakfast this year, as well as lunch, so they should be there at 8:00 a.m. I'm planning to be there, and will keep an eye out for anyone from this forum who shows.

OK so call me extra wooly but I don't get this Is it a ride or what? It would be about 6 hours from here including gas stops and such so not terrible far but giving daylight time a down and back in daylight (warmth) is not possible but...

It's about 400 people from all disciplines within motorcycling kicking tires in the parking lot, eating too much, and leaving around 12:30 p.m. I'm not much on RTE's myself, but this one is fun, and a 1200 mile day, for me, is usually a pleasant way to mark the passing of another year.

Give it a try, Mr. Sheep; it's not the destination, it's the ride.

Interesting. I hate cold and am busy getting a new sheep dog broke in but this could be fun and I have never been to Mobile...

Well, I missed you guys. Rode 1171 miles, had a great breakfast buffet, saw some old friends, and wrapped up the year. Maybe next time.
