Alright. I've been looking for the answers and I can't seem to find it.
I recently put the HRC wiring Harness on my RC and everything is peachy keen with the exception of the speedo. I knew the speedo wouldn't work but I didn't anticipate the tach not working (because I am too smart to realize that they were the same connection). I've been looking for the diagram to show me which wires I need to jumper or what, but I'm asking, nay begging those who have experience for some help.
Before I go any further with other mods, I got to get this issue fixed. I don't think that getting an aftermarket digital dash will help since the connection is missing.
What?!?! Nothing. Sheep? aren't you the wiring guru? Abtech did you run the stock harness on yours? Anyone Bueller, Bueller. I'm dying over here. Don't make me whine
My speedo doesn't work, but the temp and RPM functions do.

He'll have to answer, he didn't list the HRC harness in the ad, and I haven't really looked at it hard enough to know.
The speed sensor bung has a block off plate...

Yeah, I'm leaning that way. I've become very happy and confident on it the last few track days. I feel that if I'm going to spend a year learning, I want to focus on riding in the packs and not learning a new bike at the same time. I know the RC is more capable than I am, so I just have to meld with it and really learn it. I'll complain about a lack of straight away hp once I have other twins as a gauge and not a mixed group of AFM Superbike guys on the latest I4 1000s. I can hang with those on RC's and Mille's. Some 999's but only because the riders aren't using the bike to it's potential and the 1098's I've seen, forget it, 30 hp down I got nothing.
Besides, inside sources have already seen the 09 Honda answer to the 1098 and that will replace my RC. I need to stay focused on the twin
I rode jetblast10's bike (from rogue and other forums) at jennings one weekend and it had the HRC harness. I definitly remember the tack working on it... Can't remember about the speedo however, I was just trying to keep it rubber side down!
I modified the stock harness to match the HRC harness diagram as closely as possible without going bananas. My speedo did work, but since they need to be covered from view on a racebike to get through most techs (and it's all BS anyway, especially once you change the gearing), I disabled it and 86d the connection and used a Kyle block off on the sender.
Valley Honda used to have the mod diagram on their site along with the ignition/kill switch mod, but I don't think it's there any longer. You may want to ping Mr. Hyushida and see if he still has the diagrams.
Now in stereo Visionaries say "Yes, we can."
Engineers say "Not so fast."
and Seamus is awesome
Those guys had a pretty bad ass RC at the AFM races in 01 and 02.

Yeah, I did the harness a few months ago knowing the speedo would be diconnected, but I just didn't think that the tach would go away as well. I could care less about the speed, I just want my RPMs back. I've missed a few shifts and flubbed others because I wasn't where I needed to be. My seat tach is not a highly calibrated tool yet.
I have the HRC harness and you have to make a connection for the tach to work. I will take some pics tonight and show you what you need to do. Hang in there help is on the way.

Dude, where have you been? Yes please, take pics. I have this from Steve at RSC, but can't determine what exactly I needed to do because when it comes to wiring, I pretty much suck.
Ok Hope this helps,
You want to run a wire from the display plug(red wire pictured) to the negative terminal of the battery, thats your ground now.
Now you want to remove the wire (yellow/green)that is on the black connector for the ecu(location should be a6) and move that wire to a21 which is an open port. Make sure you seal that hole and plug the other so no dirt/debris get in.
So the wire for the ground, do you have to separate that from the harness and hook it to the battery? What does that connection look like? Can i crimp something that would link into the existing lead for the power commander? Your pics are the best help. Thanks
The red wire that is in the 1st pic. all you do is put a wire in that hole and then run down to the negative terminal or any type of good ground will work also. I just used a small wire crimp that once pushed in wont retract out.
I used what I had which was 14 gauge but you can use smaller like 16 or gauge, really any size will work as long as it fits connector and is long enought to connect to the negative terminal of the battery.
