    Wingin' it - project GLCR

Well I honestly thought this day would never rear it's ugly head, but maybe it's because I'm just getting older, grayer, or mostly because I found a deal I absolutely could not pass up. Yes, Hades is rather frigid, I'm buying a Goldwing!

I'll post up some more details and obligatory pics on Friday when I actually pick it up. I have a few mods already planned for it, then it's time to rocker and roll

Mods should be a set of striaght pipes and some leather tassles for the grips(and your chaps)

We need more details, year color, all the goods... such a tease.

You'll love the Wing. You can never forget its size, but a well-ridden Wing will cover more ground in a hurry than you might think. It's even surprising how quick one can get around a track, but my days of doing that are long gone. Besides, no one said you could only have one bike. Congrats.

Last time I checked your garage was getting a little short on space. If you need someone to store one or two of the smaller bikes I'm your man.

NOPE, I've met him a couple of times and he is SERIOUSLY fast. Turns that wing on it's boards in the parking lot at slow speeds no problems. he knows the road and he is scary fast on it.

Getting over "that" hump has been the best thing I've done for my motorcycling.

Never ridden one of them, but nobody I know that likes bikes and has actually ridden one had much bad to say about it.

    Congrats Brian!

At 155lbs, I'm actually kind of hesitant to ride a wing. It seems to heavy of a bike for me to monkey around at slow speeds.

Meh, I'm sure I'd be fine.

Didn't you pay attention in the MSF course? You can control anything just let the bike do the work. just don't land under it...

Congrats, man! You're going to have a blast.

The week I spent on a rented Goldwing in 2008 is one that I'll never forget. Salt Lake City to Vegas on the first day, with plenty of backroads and detours along the way. I did many days of long hours, and rarely got fatigued. The bike was pleasing with its smooth torque and adequate power; it just did its job...and well. Once - heading east from the Hoover Dam, I did a stretch of 80 miles without touching the bars. Heading south into Sedona on 89A on that bike was one of the top five motorcycling experiences of my life. A fantastic machine that I'll surely own...someday.

    Some pics from my trip...
Damn! Looking through these makes me want to do it again.

You should come down for a weekend in May or June. We'll hoon around on the motard and the VFR. Or you should come on the Spring Stimulus ride. You'll soon see the reason for the VFR craze.
