    '85 VFR 400 Rothmans Edition

This thing is cool. If I had the finances I wouldn't be posting it here for you schmucks to drool over. I'd be driving to get it right now.

...dude you ride an offroad bike with slicks, 1/2 the weight of a GS, double the suspension, with a browning 50 cal going off 32" from your skull as a daily freaking driver - I'd expect anything except a nitro dragbike to be bland by comparison - SSG

Seriously, it's not as tempting as the R/W/B ones that were for sale in the other thread, and I managed to logic my way out of buying one of those..

Since when did logic ever come into play with a motorcycle purchase

Exactly, logic schmogic, it's a cool bike and I want it. That's what matters. Except I don't have the cash so I need one of ya'll to buy it so that I can at least maybe someday swing a leg over it.

Just to stir the pot, I've already told CBRVFR I'd be happy to source any 'hard to find' spares he might need. Plentiful supply this side of the water. So no excuses in that regard.

I'm not sure how reliable you are. I have yet to receive any of the RVF400 I had asked to be shipped in boxes.

You'd have to be careful not to also buy their 1975 CB400.

I live in the KC metro area (Roeland Park which is a little city swallowed up with all the other little cities)....and there is a KC, KS and KC, MO essentially split by the state line.

Don't worry; both of these bikes are safe from me. But that doesn't mean I'm not tempted or, better yet, willing to shop with someone else’s $. If I could fit another bike in the garage or budget right now the 400 would be just one of many candidates. So if anyone wants a closer set of eyes to examine either one just let me know.

Nice Classic VFR with the famous left side exhaust. It's even fairly close.

It's about double what I have to spend on this endeavor. I've been shopping old CB's mostly because they fall into budget a bit better. This one is much more appealing though. I love the colors, the style, and the left side exhaust. I've always wanted something like this but I'm afraid now isn't the time. If I really thought I had any shot at it at the moment I wouldn't be posting it here for you sharks

I have to come out and publicly admit that the motard is worse on the highway than I anticipated. No shortage of power but it is just too much work with no wind protection. Now I never expected to be cruising for hours or anything but my only motorcycling friend in this area rides a Harley so we do like to get out on the small highways and explore small town Iowa. For my everyday riding, around town, commuting, hooliganism, the motard is even better than I thought.

To top it off my wife is feeling a little cheated since she can't ride with me now. Neither of us thought that would be a problem with the baby being around but we both are missing riding together. I've decided that some older bike for cruising the highways with my wife might be in order. So maybe I should consider this thread my "I'm kinda lookin' for something but not sure what thread."

An old VFR would perfect but I'm sure they'll all end up out of budget. I'm actually going to look at a '74 CB later today.
