    Which Rearsets?

I'm getting ready to choose some rearsets for my 954 and need help deciding. Which brand do you guys recommend? Also - is there a rearset that's comfortable for highway use and works well when it's time to get the lean on?

I crash tested a set of Vortex and I was so impressed with them that I bought another set. Highly recommended

    Re: Which Rearsets?

The Satos I had on my 954 were adjustable, well made, and really expensive.

The Woodcraft rearsets I have on my SV have replaceable parts and look to be more robust.

It would have been even more impressive if you didn't need another set, no?

Vortex are good and have replacement parts available.

Vortex or Sato - both great. Look for a deal on a used set, if you can find them.

I was considering both Vortex and Sato. However - are they comfortable on the highway? I "migrate" to work out here once or twice a week on my little rocket.

Oh yeah. Multi-adjustable, so you can put them in just the most comfortable position for you, regardless of riding style.

I thought they were fixed? The ones I saw on Cal-sportbike.com were. I should get the adjustable then?

Absolutely. If you're going to spring for aftermarket rearsets, you definitely want them to be multi-adjustable. It makes a big difference in your comfort and performance.

    Re: Which Rearsets?

Tuffy, I've got Vortex's on mine. I set them as far up and back as I could since I was going to the track shortly after installing them and haven't adjusted them since. Most of my riding is on the street and it's not uncomfortable at all.

If I can tuck my big ass on the bike comfortably with them set up like that, you should be ok.

    Re: Which Rearsets?

I've got the Satos and I like them. I bought the adjustable ones because I thought I'd lower them for street riding, but once I set them where I liked them for the track, I haven't touched them. Comfortable enough.
Keep in mind that rearsets won't allow for the stock brake switch, something I need to get through NJ inspection. You can get a pressure switch and wire it in.

I have Vortex ones for the RC and they are not adjustable (not available for the RC that way) I have no complaints and have tested them for impact. The only thing I did was ground a peg a bit and bent the shifter (slapped the stock one back on and rode)

    Re: Which Rearsets?

I had Sato on my ZX-14 and liked them very much. Much smoother operation than the stock. I just picked up a set of Arrows for my ZX-10, but haven't put them on yet so I can't give a report on them.
