I was sent this pic, and I have no information at all about it. I'm guessing it must have been a display at the Indy dealer show. Anyone have any info?
I bet it's another model AHM has put together that Honda Japan will ignore completely.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government.
Don't know. You'd think with the growing popularity of SM bikes on this continent, someone would make the decision to bring them over.
I'd venture to bet that a SM based on the 450 would sell better than one based on the old 650, but that's just a personal hunch.

I was hoping they would put that concept VTX 1800, featured a couple years ago, into production. I think it had a hubless rear wheel. It looked very nice.

Huh uh. 'Mericans need MORE DISPLACEMENT!
They still haven't shot back at the SV650 after all these years, so it seems Honda can just afford to pick and choose its market segments.

That is one sweet looking machine, BTW.

You gots a point.
I almost have more fun on my 125cc (soon to be 140cc) SM that was dirt cheap than any other bike, yet nobody else seems to want to snap one up at the discounted price. To little displacement I guess.
I can't say I'd buy either this 450SM or the 650, but I would have bought an NAS the first day I could.

I just wish I had a better place to ride one other than my neighborhood. I know they'd be a ton of giggles.
A guy on ROGUE is building a sweet 400 for the track. Too bad those never got over here.

Ya I think so, these new 450s are very high strung and have frequent service intervals.
Right. Supermoto fans tend to want a MX bike with slicks, and I can see where Honda would be reluctant to put a road legal 450 out there and then have people bitch about the frequent service intervals or how they don't hold up to the wear and tear of street use.
i wonder how they are powering the lights, the crf 450 does not have lighting capability or at least i didnt think it did
Just add the lighting coil to the stator. Many dirt bikes have that option in the aftermarket because the space is just left blank on bikes without lighting needs.
Looks like a very cool bike, that would be tempting my purchase dollars.
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
