Can't find this part!!

Ok - I'm looking EVERYWHERE for this part that I can't seem to find the name of. I looked in my service manual, Bike Bandit, Honda, Etc. I would have better luck if I knew the name of it.

Anyhow - it's the rubber "cover" over the top of the motor in between the gas tank and the motor itself? ANyone know the name of this? Oh yeah - it's on an '03 CBR954. I don't know if it's a heat mat?

12 MAT A, SHELTER 83151-MAJ-G00

Is that the one, or is that a heat shield attached to the bottom of the tank?

It's funny you send me that diagram evl_twn - I bought the three "pads" from bike bandit and they weren't the part I needed. I'm going to use them anyway -

Service Honda Home of the CR500AF - Honda Motorcycle Parts

Service Honda has it cheapest, but at that price you're probably better of buying local anyway...

edit: updated with correct part number

is this part really a big deal? I've been running without it for a long time. I think it might not have even been on my bike when I bought it. I know it was on my old one though.

It is for me - I live in SOCAL and it gets HOT here! It can be over 100 degrees any day of the week.... Others in colder climates may not have a problem without it.

It adds weight and cost to the bike. Neither of which Honda would do for no reason.
