1999 f4?

So tomorrow morning I'm supposed to meet a guy at a stealership where he'd had his bike in storage all winter to potentially buy it (insurance came through damn quick AllState). It's a yellow 1999 CBR F4. Anything I should be concerned about with this bike? Anything in particular to look for?

Only thing i can think of is the CCt. Rev her up between 5 and 7 k rpm and listen for what sounds like ball bearings rattling around. its a cheap fix you can do yourself. besides that it has a banana seat and carbs...uggg.

The bike is great reliable and should run literally forever!

Enjoy. i would say welcome to this century but your a year off! and you may beat me up

+1. That was the only thing I could think of. Just check the normal stuff, maybe paying more attention to the condition and maintenance done since a lot of 600's were first bikes for people, thus a lot weren't taken care of like they should have been. I know this is a generalization and you should look over every bike very carefully, but that's just what I've seen with a lot of 600's.

Well I'm just about to leave to go check it out, I'm not too worried about the maintenance part, SHE has all the documents on the bike AND it's been stored at a stealership all winter. I also talked her down a thousand dollars

What a piece of junk with a lying owner. "Never been tracked, only tipped over in the driveway"

The entire bike was safety wired, there was no speedometer wired to the bike and there was tape residue on the headlights. The engine case had rash on it like I'd never seen before in one direction, not impact marks like a tip over.

Why do sellers lie when it's blatently obvious it's a lie

Sucks! I have driven a couple of hours before to find that out myself!
I hate asshats that do that.

Now go find yourself an F4i!

Good luck!

I got mine for 4500 a few years ago on graigslist. it took a good three months of searching. she had 8500 miles on her. when i tried a dealer they wanted 6500 and only budged like 500 bucks. I negotiated with the guy buy telling him how a bikes value is determined. take the retail and wholesale prices out of the kelly blue book add them together then devide by two and thats the starting point. Most people try to sell the bike way over it's worth.

And i hate dealers! way over priced for used bikes.

Good luck the 750 would be a nice ride!
