Video of Honda RC162 and RC166 pretty amazing sound.

These are the 125cc multis from the early 60's - it's a 6 1/2 minute video, and the first 2 minutes are probably informative if you speak Japanese, but it's worth the wait if you can turn it up..

I think they didn't want it embedded

OK, browse to youtube and paste this at the end after the .com

I'm glad I checked back to see if it was working again. The edit job didn't pop it back into my "new posts" search.

They fired that baby up at the Laguna Seca Moto GP the first two years, talk about an incredable symphony of mechanical maddness If there ever was a wet dream for a moto gearhead, hearing that thing is it. IIRC, the thing wouldnt run below like 6,000 rpm, and redlined at like 17k.

You probably do remember correctly. If you watch the video closely it zooms in on the tach and shows the redline at 17K.

The sound on that video is incredible. You would think that they are much bigger than 125cc.

I don't know what they made that thing out of, and from what I've read no one else knows either, but damn that thing is a beast. I never thought I'd be scared to ride a 125 but if given the chance to ride that I'd probably crap myself.
