New addition to family...

Well i'm not good at reviews so to speak but here it goes remember all i have to compare this new 08 CBR1000RR to is the old 99 900RR that i had. Now that being said...

The first thing i noticed is the slipper clutch i was used to the engine braking on the 900. This new bike it almost like your in neutral (not quite) but close very little engine braking that you feel compared to the ole beast (900RR).

The next most noticeable change is the weight I spent 3hrs on the bike soon as i got it and was just starting to get tired/saddle sore/etc. The 900 i could only spend around 2hrs w/o a good 10-15min break and i was already noticibly tired (granted i'm not in the best shape i could be in i sit at a computer all day long).

I read some articles about some demo bikes and the problems they were having shifting from 2nd to 3rd on the track. This seems to have been resolved for the average consumer as i didn't have any shifting problems at all. Very smooth transition gear to gear and the power from wrist to rear wheel is very nice!!

One other feature that comes to mind right away is the exhaust as you may or may not notice in the pictures the exhaust big port opens up at around 5k and you definatly hear it. The mechanic said it will act like a powerband but it doesn't seem like it but then again i'm not really getting on it yet still breaking it in.

Well enjoy the pics...I'll add more comments as other features come to mind.

Some other items that are noticeable are that some bolts have holes in the center to reduce weight i'm assuming. You can see the handle bars in one shot above notice the triangular holes also to reduce weight. I'm sure there are plenty more that i haven't noticed right away but those you do.

Sweet! First CBR1000 I've really liked off the showroom floor!

Love that color too.
