Anyone own a Honda Ruckus?
Does anyone own a Honda Ruckus? Or spent any time on one for that matter? I'm thinking about picking one up... for absolutely no reason... Just good on gas for quick trips.

If it gets 60MPG and your car gets 20MPG and you ride the Ruckus for 3000 miles instead of your car you will use 50 gallons instead of 150 gallons. So at $5.00 a gallon you save $500 in one year. Likely you will not ride it 3K miles. then factor in the cost of plates and insurance and payback will be about a baaa-zillion© years. Nothing against a Ruckus but if your goal is to save....

Best pit bike ever. Automatic, electric start. Fun, comfortable, absolutely harmless. Does a max of about 32 MPH. Easy to carry a gas can or spare wheel/tire on the platform by your legs. It'd be alright for quick trips, buzzing around economically - just gotta watch out for cagers. It gives you a bit of the rush of motorcycling in a much more tame way. Even my wife and kids have fun just zooming around on it.

I just bought a used one to use as a pit bike. I got about 100 miles out of the first tank of gas. 1-1.3 gallons. In NC no tags or insurance are required if under 50cc. It's a lot of fun to ride but it's pretty slow. I've never felt so exposed when I got out in traffic on it. It's fine in the neighborhood. On flat pavement it will cruise about 37MPH(indicated). Mines a 2003.

I never thought about using the platform to drag my tires up to the tire guy.... I'd be stupid not to buy one!

Also check out the Zuma. Yamaha started making them again. Good for 2-up, and lots of storage room under the seat.
