Non VTEC VFR

What year did they start putting the VTEC junk on the VFRs?

I am pretty sure it was 2002. It was the same year they went to the under seat exhaust.

A power commander smoothes out the transition when vtec kicks in. I dont think its all that bad. My 04 is alot more friendlier than that 01 929.

It's not that I think VTEC is bad. I just think gear driven cams are way cooler.

2001 was the last of the gear driven cams. The "vtec" VFR's started in 2002.

Oddly enough I was looking at the VTEC models last night. Still trying to decide on what I want to buy. I really hope Honda announces a new VFR this September but I already know not to hold my breath. Only thing on the market I want is the 1098s but I still haven't convinced myself to drop 20k on it yet

VTEC is cool too, just not as cool as gear driven cams

VFR's and 1098's are much different. Be sure to seriously consider how you intend to ride it Good luck with the debate
