CBR1000RR Valve Adjustment

OK after MUCH procrastination I am getting ready to do this before season starts. The book looks like there is three gotchas. They recommend replacing the sealing washer on the fuel rail pressure release, seems like a good thing. Removing the valve cover, not clear if I need a new gasket Replacing the cam tensioner they recommend a special tool. From what I can find the tool is just to push the tension piston back in. Anyone done theirs yet and have any advice

Have you even opened the throttle all the way on that thing? Ten bucks says your valves are well within spec.

In a black sheep moment or 10 I have had it well over 150MPH But generally it is my road bike and it has been treated very nicely. I agree everything is likely in spec but to not check and trash a motor I am already past the 16K by a lot

Cam cover gasket is reusable. I'm not sure about the camchain tensioner special tool, and you won't need to worry about it unless you have to actually pull the cams.
