That's MCN for ya, unless the bike in question is at least a year old...

The result is a kerb weight of 199kg (105kg front, 94kg rear)
That's around 440 lbs, right? Doesn't sound like the class lightweight champ -

Curb weight... full of fuel, ready to ride. Bet it undercuts the next lightest by at least 20 lbs.

Not everyone can use the word "only" before "8 grand"

Yeah, I know. It didn't have any headshake, the rear end wasn't dancing all over the place either. Who would want to ride it?

Re: First test report on the 2008 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade

Just got the new (January) issue of TWO (Two Wheels Only) from the UK, and Niall Mackenzie talks about this bike in his column. He said he has a good buddy who is an accomplished racer, who recently tested the new Blade back to back with the '07.

He said "he immediately took four seconds off his lap times with the 2008 machine and felt it was like a proper race bike in the process."

Still butt ugly, but it sounds like it's a performer.

Re: First test report on the 2008 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade

I predict someone is going to make some money designing a less ugly exhaust bracket.

Must be too much Holiday food, but I'm really starting to warm to the looks.

Here's hoping the box-stock quickness translates to AMA SBK quickness.

Seems like you could build one off of the rear set pretty easily.

Four seconds off of what? cause if it's off the Isle of Mann TT lap, that's not saying much...
