i enjoy being on two wheels again and i look forward to the information exchange on this site!!
i guess i had no idea how long the story would be when i posted this nearly two years ago. at the time, i was on the ZX-14. it was traded for a new '06 ST1300, which was traded for a new '06 VTX1300R, which was traded for a new '08 SV650 in october of '08.

you see, i was drawn to sportbiking with the release of the 916. you know - the sex on two wheels thing. finally, i bought a bike in 2/01. it was the 929 and most of you know how much fun i had on that bike. job changes blah blah blah and i got rid of the 'Blade as you read in my quote. when the 1098S fell through in april of 2007, i thought i would never fulfill the Ducati Dream and four bikes later i was still chasing something that could only be fixed one way.

well, i happened to see an ad where Ducati was offering some cheap money on the 848 and Triumph had good deals on the 675. i started reading and researching and studying to find out all i could about these bikes. i called my closest dealer (an hour away) to ask lots of questions and finally the salesman said "just come up here and ride BOTH of them". the next morning i was there when the doors opened. after a briefing on both bikes, we went out for our test ride - me on the 675 and him on the 848. i put probably 10 miles on the triumph and had a good idea of how it compared to when i'd been on before. then, he put me on the Duc -- IT WAS OVER!! you know that feeling of how everything is just RIGHT?? ~25 miles later he finally convinced me to go back to the dealership. the plan had been for us to swap bikes repeatedly during the ride. once i got on the 848 there was no getting off. in 7 months, i put 700 miles on the SV. i've had the Duc for just over a month and i'm a hair under 1k miles. i cannot stay off of this bike. the tech at Motorcycles of Charlotte calls it motorcycle "crack" and he's right.

i'm headed to Deal's Gap next weekend if anyone's gonna be in the area -- i'd love to hook up for a ride on the Dragon and other area roads.

so it's hello again to all of my friends!! i'm really glad to see so many of you are still around!

See you again in two years.
