Mick, good to have you aboard. Can't help you much with that area but we have several members from the NE that can probably help you out.

Re: HELLO FROM EIRE
Thanks and welcome, Mick.
I have driven through the area and wished I was on a bike. Head Northwest to the 'finger lakes' area, and make a pilgrimage to the old Watkins Glen raceway. You'll find it under Binghamton - no 'p'- binghamton NY - Google Maps

Re: HELLO FROM EIRE
Welcome to the site. I am like CBRVFR I have drove through NY many times but in a truck so I cannot help you much on the twisty roads but if you get to the upstate NY area it would seem to be a little more bike friendly.
And yes Rich was a good guy. RIP

Re: HELLO FROM EIRE
Welcome to the board. I'm sorry home base is Binghamton, that is one of the most confusing places I've gone through with the way the highways come together. Hopefully you'll get some better pointers from the locals. There is good riding in just about any direction, but be prepared to spend an hour getting out of town before you can get to the great stuff ... there might be smaller local stuff so check with the locals..
10 and 30 are great roads. Definitely check out the Routemeister's map page (http://home.rochester.rr.com/backroa...%20Catalog.htm). He's put together a few rides in the area (and probably has the best of the Finger Lakes mapped out if you chose that way). Go east and you get into the mountain areas, go west and you get into what was left by the glaciers (finger lakes ... much like the locks in Scotland). Have a great time.

Re: HELLO FROM EIRE
to the addiction, Mick. Glad you could join us.There's plenty of decent riding roads in the area to keep you busy. Pretty much anything off the main highways between Binghamton and the Pennsylvania state line should give you enough to keep you busy and late for the wedding.
