I'm living in Yuma, AZ (just moved a month ago) and am looking for some people to ride with!
I have a 07 Red ZX-6R with 14,500mi on her since I bought her brand spanking new in Oct 07. She currently is at the shop fixing the dreaded oil leak that is now a recall and she keeps shutting off on me when I pull the clutch in all the way but no worries! it will be all fixed soon! (I hope)
here is me at the bottom of Yarnell Hill north of Phoenix.

You are sending all kinds of mixed messages.
Lid with a hawk (I love it by the way, they crack me up). leathers with no gloves, jeans, but riding boots.
I like it!

lol the gloves were off because I was waiting for the slow cars to pass so I could have the whole road to myself, they went right back on after teh picture
and jeans have hurt me twice now from nasty crashes and I still don't have leathers my knees are shot, I'm going to be confined to a bed as an old lady!

One would need to try very hard to get that sort of mileage on an '07 bike where I live now.
I lived in Phoenix for 10 years, just moved to yuma a month ago, its actually a cool (not in temp lol) place to live! but the roads SUCK! I gotta go at least 200mi for something. That's why I'm converting my ZX into a touring bike, raising the bars and getting a seat and some bags. I already have the heated jacket!

Ridden ~65,000mi total and counting! 15,000mi of those on Cleopatra (my ZX-6R) bought in Oct 2007!!
I am really happy I sold my sport bike to go to a touring-ish bike for the street even with close twisties. Maybe something to consider.

<---awesome!
yup, that's why I'm gonna buy Convertibars and a Sargent seat and I have already installed hookups for a heated jacket (warm and safe FTW) and I will be getting heated grips ($30 at Cycle Gear = much better than $150+ for gloves)
Modding it is waaaaay cheaper at this point since I owe $15k still on it (traded in a Ducati for the ninja and bought the dumb service plan/warrenty)

Sounds like a plan.

Check some of my long range grazing posts, I did that on a stock CBR1000RR, so the bars are OK but proper grip on the bars and arm positioning is far more important in my opinion. Oh and that icon is backwards
Did you have to pay them to take your Duc? Even without the trade, that's $6000 over MSRP!!! What happened?
Welcome, by the way!
lol I bought the 07 Ducati SS800 for $500 LESS than the Ninja actually but then I lost $3000 on the trade only a few months later and I bought the service plan and the extended warrenty and after taxes and crap my ninja is about $17,500 and a year later still owing $15,000 it is worth only $5000, if even that!
and guess where that $17,500 went?? the Kawi card! Argh! I had no idea they would do that to me! The Duc went on a real loan and so did my car, so when I got home that night I realized it wasn't the same lol... I was just too damn excited! lol

icon? what icon?
What brand did you use? Helibars or Convertibars or something else? the Converti's are adjustable, so I think that's probably better. I got a problem with my back from the aggressive riding position and carpal tunnel in both wrists. I try so hard to keep the weight off them, but it makes my back hurt, so I'm constantly moving around, it really sucks when 200mi of my ride is in a straight line. I had a 97 Honda Shadow 600 for 3 1/2 years and that riding position was real nice. Someday when I'm rich I will buy another lol

The sheep goes in the back not front
Mine is stock, so Honda bars. One big thing is be sure to not lock your elbows (I figure you know that one) as that is guaranteed wrist pain. The other is get a tail bag (I got Tourmaster) and get that purse off your back (backpacks are worse I am guessing since I have no purse to compare with) as that will tire you a lot more than you think. Also break BEFORE you get tired or sore. I am sure with your miles you have an idea of your range so stop and stretch out a bit at about 75% and it will allow you to go further. Oh and I move around a bunch also because it keeps you from seizing at my age Lastly be sure you are not over gripping the bars that will also wear you out REAL fast.
Of course many accuse me of not being right so your experience may vary
Oops one more thing I have a Throttlemeister, don't use it much but on a 200 miles drone it allows you to twist it and shake out your throttle hand for a minute or two (the only mod I have)
