Hello from Boston(ish)... part deux

Hey all, I signed up a few days ago and thought I would finally say hello. I've been riding for three years now, and have the great record of getting a new bike every year!

I started on a Bonneville, then sold that for a Ducati Monster 620, and now that is soon to be on the chopping block to make way for my project. I bought a 1995 Ducati 900SS/SP, and over the winter tore down the top end of the motor, and is right now getting reassembled!

Looking forward to lots of good posts!

Tull

I am. I actually live with him, and he's a big reason for the Ducati addiction, among other motorcycle related ones.

Yea, Tull's gotten in deeper than I ever expected... when I first met him, he thought I was *insane* because I was sitting there in class in a sling (surgery for a separated shoulder), high as a kite on percoset, couldn't write or take notes (right shoulder)... and I think I said something to the effect of "man, I can't wait to go racing again."

I'm truly surprised he's gotten the addiction, and just got into trackdays last year.... hehehe

well to people like us its perfectly rational. to non-riders we're insane. I don't understand why they think there's something wrong with wanting to put your knee on the ground at triple digit speeds.

It's true, when I met Scottie in college, I thought he was nuts.

Now however, I've developed a tick over the winter from withdrawl, and I feel all funny in my pants when I see the desmosedici.

A few years back I helped a friend install a slip-on on his CBR1000. He thought it was such a "luxury" to have a motorcycle that wasn't for the street.

Now he's got a trackbike.

It's an addiction, fer shure. We added on to the garage to house "the collection". The garage is bigger than the house. As it should be.

A BOSTON(ISH) invasion here lately or what?

Would post the "WELCOME" sign but am revolting until the MOD"s move it up front where we can get to it easier. I mean come on, who uses that much they need to be upfront.

Oh, have fun with the toy.

Well, the engine is back in the frame as a stressed member where it belongs. all wired up, plumbed up, on stands.

Tried to get it to run over the past weekend. Having a *tad* of carb issues. I keep on fouling plugs.

Photos of the finished product will be posted hopefully sooner then later.

I'm considering some major surgery on the dual spark engine in my Hypermotard. I've got a set of DP cams, and have heard that a few degrees of cam timing retard can work wonders with top-end.

May need some advice from you on the finer points of Italian V-Twin re-assembly.
