Thread: Ok to put slicks on now for Grattan?

OK, I know it sounds like a stupid question but Grattan will likely be my first track day this year and I FINALLY have a little time to do some much needed work on the bike.

I just warmed it up to get the oil out of it and I need to do a coolant flush. But I was wondering if I would be ok to put slicks on for Grattan now? I will likely have the bike up on the lift until I get there and I just want to make sure that I am not going to make them "hard" or something stupid by having them on the steel table for almost a month.

I'm going to change the oil and then I'll be back...

Try not to get any nasty solvents on them, and keep the bike away from your water heater if you can.

Excellent, thanks very much, believe it or not this is still my first set of slicks and I just wanted to make sure that I won't do any harm by putting my second set on a month ahead of time.

I want to get the bike out of the lift anyway so hopefully I can get it all done tonight... Wish me luck.
