    Not sure, but that definitely wouldn't go over well in this house (although the scent in the living room does overpower the glade plug in due to new tires in the living room )

    We don't have a dishwasher, but she mentioned to me that the washing machine was the best way to do NoToil filters.

    I don't think this would get much of a comment in my house.

    My wife is extremely understanding - She understands my fondness for metal things, and overlooks the occasional dishwasher incident.

    Sounds like you are similarly blessed.

    Starter List of Common Household Items and Their Alternative Usages
    • Partially filled sink => Inner tube leak checker
    • Shower + laundry soap => Wash cabinet for large dirty parts
    • Blow dryer => Heat gun
    • My wifes good tweezers => makeshift O-ring pick
    • Oven => paint or powder-coat curing
    • Oven => heat up head casting to ease valve guide installation
    • Ice => chill valve guides - See also 'Oven'

    I think I've done every one of those except the powder coat curing. I've also used the electric toothbrush to clean a chain and some other hard to reach places.

    Yeah, my issue is lack of power washer, parts tub, parts oven, heat gun, etc.
