Track compressor?

I am going to get a compressor to bring to the track. Thinking of this one. Anyone have one (this or something else)? My limitation is that I need to power it from a Honda EU2000i. It would also be nice if it was quiet but I can live with noise as it won't be on all the time. I have space in the trailer but don't want to bring my full size even if the generator will start it...

OK ready set

It should be fine. I had a gas compressor but the motor smoked a little, well alot. So after I upgraded my house compressor i threw the old one in the trailer and it works fine. My gen will fire it up just fine, even with the warmers.

A couple of the reviews on there don't sound too promising in the long term reliability department. What is the warranty on it?

Have you looked into viair compressors? 100% duty cycle, run off 12v and are designed to be hard mounted into a vehicle.

VIAIR - 12 volt and 24 volt Air Compressors

There are actually a couple companies producing these now. I think Warn has just released a line of compressors too.

As I look into finally selling the Jeep and buying a truck and enclosed trailer I plan on getting a hard mounted/wired setup using one of these.

To late I got the 3Gal and we will see. I got it for $89 on sale and Craftsman Club. Those others are interesting Seamus but I need it next weekend maybe. I might be swapping tires after Saturday unless it rains (then I will swap the Pirellis on) Tomorrow I will test it on the generator

Hooked it up this morning and the generator runs it nicely. Pumps up fairly fast and is not real bad on noise. Overall I think I will like it.

But will it pop a bead on a 190/70 with a stiff sidewall?

3 gal and 125 PSI so I hope so. Though I have a Bridgestone 190/640/17 rear ready for changing Saturday night (unless it rains ). So not sure on a Dunlop but I will find out on the Bridgestone

I have needed 200+ PSI (with a boatload of tank behind it) to seat several tires, especially if the weather is muggy. I would definitely invest in a squeezer band.

Do they actually make tire specific bands? I've used a ratchet strap many times before (trailside bead reseating). Never even thought there would be a one specifically for tires.

spray a little bit of glass cleaner on the bead and it will set. Plus it will not get the tread slick
