Slime Power Sport Tire Inflator

Slime 40001 Power Sport Tire Inflator

Got one of these last year to carry for emergency use while riding the RR on the road. I have not had a chance to use it (thankfully). However I always bring it to the track just in case the air bottle is insufficient. So I decided to test it yesterday by trying to seat the rear on my RC (190/55/17). Well from the truck power plug it seated the tire on the rim. It was a little slow as the CFM is low (so you need to get the tire bounced out) but did the job. So on to test number 2 could it refill my airtank? The answer is not really. It did pump it up but they instructions specified only running the pump for 8 minutes at a time. So filling it to 100lbs would take a LONG time with many breaks (but might work).

Overall a nice little pump.

Wimpy. Get a real compressor.

Actually at the track I have the generator anyway so I put my old 110v compressor in the trailer and run it when needed. i did have a gas powered compressor but the noise was an issue and the motor needs rebuilt so it smokes a little.

For $35 with all of the adapters, that is a slick little unit. A bit larger than the stripped out $20 units, but with the cords and less likelihood of burning fingers on exposed cylinders, it makes a nice option.

Thanks for sharing.

I have one on my bike at all times, along with a patch kit: ConqSoft.com » Blog Archive » Tire Repair On The Go

The whole setup fits nicely in the lockable pocket on the left fairing of the ST1300, with room to spare.

Conq, the link on your page to the Stop and Go plugger isn't working?

Check out this...

I have it and have used it on the ZO6. On a motorcycle tire I would trust this to get me home so I could get a new tire. The ZO6 has had 3000 miles on the plug so far...but I removed the tire and put an internal patch on it, and I don't go over 110 mph any more. (rear unidirectional tire is >4 bills)

I recommend the product, but with a motorcycle it should only be considered as a way to limp home and order a new tire.

Yeah, I'm just looking for something to put in my trunk to get me to limp home mode. I'd replace the tire as soon as I could.

I've always thought there was something about you that smelled flowery. Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you.

I'd reword it to be more "proper" but since you already caught me it isn't worth it.
