Cardo / Scala / Midland Rider (Teamset)

Anyone here using the solo or team version of this?

cardo wireless

My primary concern is sound, not so much passenger mic quality but the ability to hear my mp3's over A2DP. I likely won't be using the 'intercom' until I have a bike both of us can ride on anyways, but am dying without a sound solution that lives in my helmet. Earphones are great and all, but are killing me to use every time, and don't provide as much isolation as earplugs unless I spend $$$ on them.

These dudes had some decent information saying the unit sucks, but their info is also old now. I've seen a few favorable reviews from various folks since the time of this.

Sounds like the system is fairly straightforward. It can be had (the teamset model) for about 150$ online. The range is not good enough for bike to bike like the Interphone / BlueAnt units, but the battery life seems better. I have read some conflicting reports that the passenger cannot actually be 'conferenced' in to listen to music or calls. Some say it is possible, some say it is not. .

I don't have a Zumo, but one of the dudes at AdvRider does, and claims this thing is the bomb.

Fortunately , like all things internet - no one else seems to have the same results in that thread. I do believe what the first poster is describing is quite possible so I am linking to it - in theory it should work

Some friends got the Nolan N-com system, but a quick check of the electronics alone is about 350$ for that - and only works in n-com equipped helmets (so 240$ cheapest) making that not very viable at this time.

J&M also makes some decent equivalents (actually they surpass these performance greatly it sounds like) as does Chatterbox/HJC. I'd be interested in either of them if they didn't cost the same as a personal trip to the moon.

Re: Cardo / Scala / Midland Rider (Teamset)

Haven't used them on the bike yet, but they are pretty cool thus far. It's neat too - if you yell in them, they get louder so you can torture your passenger . Now to get something I can put a passenger ON. In the meantime it's just me talking to myself or making phonecalls I guess

Those guys at webbikeworld are a couple of jackasses I guess, my stuff worked perfecto right out of the box.
