I have the c530 and I'm pretty happy with it.
Thats what I had to breakdown and get, I do like it and I love the portability.
After I sold my 2720 to 'save money' , I got stuck reading a map to go somewhere and said F that and got a 530. Not a bad unit for general 'where the hell am i' but no where near the features of the 2xxx series I had . I hear th 550's (bluetooth and turn by turn text to speech directions) are 500$ refurbished now

I got a Alpine Blackbird and returned it 3 days later to get the Garmin c530. I lost some really nice feature but at least the GPS thing works.... The Alpine was a POS
I consider the c530 to be a GPS for dummy. So easy to use. I'll upgrade it some day but for now it works just fine
Re: Garmin Customized vehicle icons - Just in time for Christmas!
Anyone have a Garmin 2730?
I think that's what the guy had on my FJR. I still have the mount and the wiring. I think he said he ran the XM radio through it.
I know nothing about these things, only the factory unit that was in our old X5.
Is the 2730 a good all around unit? Is there something better for the price?

I've got the Quest 1. It gets the job done for what I need. The extra memory in the Q-2 would definitely be nice. But, we don't get the fancy cool customized vehicle icons.

Its here, and its "in training". I'm teaching it to put my work places in memory. Very cute set up. I almost have to put my reading glasses on to read it (I'm spoiled on my Mazda). The first time I used it, "Bitchen' Betty" kept trying to send me back home.
