I'm on my second one. The first one did not function at all. The current one is going back for sound issues. If that one comes back and has no issues, I still might sell it and get the newer 1080 version, mine is the last generation ContourHD.

Given your pace and racing have you considered something like a ChaseCam? The new data thing that overlays video might be the sheep's baa. I have to admit that no gyros and only one analog input is not to my liking but still the implementation looks great and useful. For one you could see if you were not WOT due to traffic.
Most of the people who live around Lake Champlain claim to have seen Champ over the years. These many reports do not prove Champ is a living lake monster. They do confirm that most people are liars.
I need to find a decent video editing program that will work with .mov and/or .mp4 files and run on vista. I did a quick crop/clip of one of the videos from the Tobacco Roads ride, and it's pretty choppy compared to the original file. I can't dump the whole unaltered video on here because it's 30 minutes, and over 1GB.
One thing I did notice is that the clipping removes some of the mic distortion/clipping, but it still isn't good enough. I also have had problems with recording with no sound at all, I think there were two videos from that weekend that did not record with any sound at all.
Edit: this was cropped using the free Easyedit software that comes with the Vholdr camera.

Pretty good eh!?! Too bad you where filming that hold bike following you
I'm poised to buy a handful of the 1080p/60fps ones, and start offering camera rentals and quick-turnaround DVD's, alongside the still photography, at trackdays. The new 1080p models have additional adjustments - such as adjustable resolution and exposure control - that the previous version did not.
Someone tell that vendor on the GTA forum that the 1080p model also provides some other adjustments (such as exposure) that the 720p model does not; he's giving incomplete information.
Mike rowe on dirrty jobs uses one where the big cams wont fit. Its a great great cam. I like the go pro also, but i have broke 2 of them now with simple falls.

Great price...I have viosport which is about 3x the price. I have no issues with it other than the remote sometimes doesnt start the cam. I wonder how the two compare...

I had a thread about that...but did anyone ever determine whether it can be used with bikes since the Chasecam unit is supposed to plug into the OBDII port of cars?

It has one analog and a throttle plus the OBDII so yes. I am still waiting for details which are VERY thin. For instance what does it read off of OBDII? Could you make a module that talks can and interface it? I think there will be more detail by spring.

I'm debating it but will probably wait until closer to the riding season.

I've seen footage from the GoPro. Its quality sucks compared to the other cams I've seen from the guys on here. I thought of buying that one (because of the price) until I saw the quality first hand. Spend a little more, or just go with another.
