If you could buy a new Radar Detector what would it be?

It's a fairly simple question...pretend you have 550$ sitting in your pocket and don't want to pay another 75 in a 35 ticket + insurance surcharges.

If you select "other" because you were going to select the RX65 - click 955 instead.

I am slightly opposed to Beltronics but that may change. I favor the passport (the GPS is keen) at this point.

Although this is really a daydreaming thread after a debate at the office, gotta say I am leaning towards the V1 actually...only because it reports # of sources and direction of origin.

The GPS aspect of things is pimptastic though...but I could always just add speed camera info to my GPS which will be sitting next to it

I recently advised a coworker to get a 9500ix as the latest and greatest but vy unproven (to me). He raves about it, but it's also his first detector in awhile I think.

I'd have to go with the V1. Heard nothing but good about it for years.

I chose other because "slow the f**k down" is much cheaper and I could use the 550$US for some tasty upgrades.

Plus, someone had to hose this up for you.

I have the 8500 and love it still, it has saved my ass more than once.

The V1 does give direction and count, but really when you hear the beep you should be slowing the Fark down anyhow. So who cares what direction it is coming from.

Wife got a severe warning today, she doesen't speed but they've increased their revenue seeking opportunities along the sole route to our domicile.

It's not about a speeding problem, more about situational awareness/countermeasures. I ride a GS remember

I'm usually on the binders at the first hint of trouble, the rest is just icing on the cake. The more purpose I can find for the device, the better.

Then you're still left with tickets for disturbing the peace with one of the ugliest bikes in creation.
