Ignition Module

I scored one cheap on the WERA board for my 600rr. The plan is to get a quickshifter to go with it but I'm wondering... what else can I do with it? How else can I benefit from custom mapping?

So basically more spark advance to take advantage of a higher detonation point? I wonder if I could put a switch in to change maps.

If it weights more than a couple pounds, keep it in the bike and you can throw it away when you need to go a bit faster.

Advancing or retarding due to octane, flame speed, etc etc. My 929 map had both at different points in the RPM band. Especially if you get oxygenated fuel, you'll want to remap fuelling too. Even if your peak HP doesn't change much, it will definitely make the bike much more responsive.

Some yes, some no.

Is this a Honda 'kit' module, or an aftermarket pulsewidth/spark timing module like a Powercommander?

I see. LTL said it already, then - Can remap with more spark to take advantage of higher octane fuel.

Can make a significant difference, actually.

You might want to wait a bit. I've heard the PC 5 that is coming out eliminates the need for the IM.
