I like the Etymotic earbuds because the actualy block nose. I always wear earplugs so if I want to use earbuds, they need to block noise as well. 90+ db wind noise in a helmet plus music and you'll go deaf. That remote looks slick.

Nice choice, I have the same iEzClick but found using expensive headphones was a waste...the "noise reducing" ones really never got to work because the noise they were reducing was too loud...and then I realized cables don't like whipping in the wind or being stuffed into jackets. It is with that , that I recommend the skullcandy Ink'd series 'phones(Target 20$). They are the best solution you'll get IMO.

Shure FTW. I have a pair of E2c's with the ear-plug foam inserts. They do all that is mentioned above and they use a higher gauge wire with a thicker sheath so that they are much more durable. They are pricey, but definitely worth the money ...

Oh yeah, forgot...I am running the Comply earplug tips on mine. 13$ for a bunch of pairs, though I got mine free from Skullcandy last year for some others I bought of theirs. Here is a store selling the tips:

You can get thicker cords and a quality headphone and probably be very happy. If I hadn't gone down that path already and sworn it off, I would feel the same.

But If this is your first go around, and you're not sitting in your living room trying to achieve audiophile sound while turbulent wind sifts by at 70mph an inch or two away....I recommend treating them like a consumable item. Nothing out there is going to block all the noise, and the noise that does get through isn't going to be all that different because the environment that is shaping it isn't going to change just cause your headphones did.

I own a pair of maximo's, philips NR, the more expensive skullcandy models...and nothing else goes in the helmet but the 20$ ones cause i just don't buy that there is any change unless you're going with custom earmolds.

I tried my mp3 a few times last season but I had a hard time getting the phones to stay in my ears while putting on my helmet. Then once the were in they'd move around too much to be stuffed deep in my ears to hear even with the volume all the way up. Plus with wind/motor noise.. I just figured it was probably for the best. It would be nice to have something for longer e-way trips though. I'll try those Target ones.
