    RAM mount arms

I bought a short RAM mount arm the other day for my new GPS setup...and its make of plastic, I'm guessing glass filled nylon. My old one is aluminum. Is this the new standard, or did I just order a "cheaper" one on accident?

You must be an old fecker...

I've had several, and they were all black glass-filled nylon...

I think Baketech is on glue ...everything I've ever ordered from them has been aluminum and didn't know they even made anything different.

I've been buying RAM stuff for about 8 years (at this point I consider the ram stuff itself to be another hobby .) and I've never seen that, do I just live in a hole?

All the RAM stuff I've ever bought (arms, bases, etc.) have been aluminum.

Just went over my collection and I do have 1 piece that is like that, but it's a 1/2 arm that is mounted to a baseplate. Everything else is AL.

Im too lazy to take a look at the RAM catalog, so you should take a photo of it close-up.

Same here, but it appeared that the nylon pieces were becoming the standard, and the aluminum ones were the extra cost bits.

The nylon work just fine unless you are an uppity GS kind of guy

I actually just bought a RAM mount to screw into the brake/clutch resevior... yeah made of plastic crap and it snapped when i screwed it in. I'm ordering the fork stem mount instead. at least it was cheap!
