so I got a separate switch to go with the new throttle I bought. Problem is its wired totally different than the stock stuff. Stock the kill switch has 2 wires and the start button has 4 wires with the black wire from each coming together. The aftermarket one has 2 wires on the starter button and 4 wires on the kill switch with the 2 blue both coming from the kill switch coming together.
according to the service manual solid black goes to Ignition and white w/ black stripe goes to battery for the kill switch. black is Ignition and black w/brown goes to battery for the starter. a combination of black and either of those 2 striped ones going to black and blue on the new switch will prime the pump (either way works but I assume black should go to the double blue wires which are one connector).
and if I go Yellow (starter) on the bike to yellow on the switch the bike will crank. problem with that is yellow on the switch goes to the kill switch not the starter button.
so I'm really just lost in the wonderful world of wiring.
if anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
the wires go as follows.
stock:
kill switch - white w/black and black
starter button - black, black w/brown, white, yellow w/red
and the 2 blacks going together to make 1 wire into the harness.
new switch:
kill switch - 2 blues, yellow w/black, black
starter button - orange, white w/black
and it had a connector on the end that had 4 contacts (black, 2 blue on one contact, orange and white w/black. the yellow w/black was completely separate with just a bullet connector on the end. also the kill switch is an in/out type with a blue and black out, then blue and yellow w/black in.
