wow, I am the only person that cares - heh.

Well I think the fact it has an accelerometer is pretty cool. As well as the fact that you can now use said accelerometer to change songs or movie the viewing angle around for vids.

That 16gb is juuuust right too.

Not sure when I'll get one, even though they are almost within .5mm of the old one's rough outer dimensions, I'd like to put hands on it first and I don't have any accessible apple stores near to me.

I am holding out for the Nano Terabit. It will also have all the same feature as the Star tTek Tricorder.

I already have a fried First Gen nano, an 8 Gig Second Gen and a 4 Gig Third Gen Nano that work gave me and I have not used yet. ALthough the new genius feature is neat, I do not see this being a ground breaking release.

I am thinking about getting an IPhone here in Italy (They do not lock Them here)

I think it's funny they ditched the 4/8gb fat-boy nano's, man I hated that form factor with a passion, I can understand why you haven't used it

It's not necessarily groundbreaking for someone interested in an iphone, it just doesen't compete. For someone like me (who likes his phones smart, and his music player smarter) the Nano is perfect because it sits there playing music not really giving a hang what my phone is doing. I like the iphones and all, but I still see a dedicated music player as manditory...and I just needed one that has a solid state 16gb, a dock connector, and fits in my current nano cases. That that other stuff is gravy

..the Genius feature is pretty cool though, I will be interested to see that. Im wondering if it works with new iTunes without the nano (like search did for current gen-nano's).

Genius will work with your playlist in iTunes, you don't need the iPod for it. I haven't turned it on, not a fan of it 'phoning home'. The grid view in iTunes 8 is very nice, way better than coverflow.

It works once you dl the New Itunes, I have not check to see if they updated the software for the old nano's so that it will work on the device.

As for the IPhone, I already have a GSM Blackberry 8310. But I am just interested in Playing with the IPhone and using it Secondary Phone. The one thing that does worry me is I have been told that the IPhone does not like the SIM Card being played with allot and it is a pain to remove the card without damaging the Phone

I still can't justify paying $200 for a 16GB Nano when the classic is $250 and you get 120GB

Well, in my weekly commute with the 8gb nano stuck in my 'cellphone' (front left inside) pocket, and sitting at my desk - I run through all the music in it usually once. With the 16 the frustration wouldn't occur for 2 weeks. With the 120gb, it's too much...I'd OCD over what portions of my collection I'd have to put on there. The 16gb keeps it concise

The size and overall convenience of the nano wins me over. I have a 30gb video that I bought for the same reasons you mentioned, but I couldn't even tell you where it is at the moment, I've actually looked for it too. I'd buck up the extra 100$ and go with a 16g touch if I wanted something that big

With 160GB you can store movies when you travel (bring the cable and watch on the hotel room TV) and do some games. Also just keep ALL of you music on it

Interesting, and thank you Microsloth

I could give a hang less about the new nano if it wasn't 16gb. I was considering a Zune for a short while, it's decently sized and the wifi thing is interesting, but all the crap that I own works with the nano/ipod line.

Speaking of, whats a fair price for a moderately used 30g video?

I've fondled the new nano's and they are quite nice, I just don't have the scratch right now.

Well, a week in and all I can say is make sure your album art and your files are accurately tagged and in order. I highly recommend musicbrainz & their picard app. with the cover art plugin...

www.musicbrainz.org

Picked up a classic, cool, 120gb. I have a 30gb at home that's about 3/4 full but the same size..

Good News:
-Screen is awesome, I've watched shows and movies on it and it's small but very clear and vibrant. I wish my phone had a screen like this on it.
-Crossfading is now available ON DEVICE rather than just on the PC app. I'm a fan of it, so glad they have it.
- That shake-to-shuffle feature is pretty cool actually. I predict their first TV ad for this feature will have Devo's Whip it as the audio accompanyment.
-Improved UI/menu/screen usage/Shuffle...basically there are a whole lot of new features for the UI that while minor, are nice..one of these is the in-song-shuffle via the center button. You can now decide to shuffle an album from within the album, rather than selecting it before you go into play your music. Sounds odd, but a nice option to have if you gotta big playlist or album etc.
- Scroll wheel - much much improved, I now cannot stand to use my old nano.

Bad news:
-What has genius done for me lately? Unless your schit is signed sealed delivered through itunes - it doesen't seem to care about your genius playlist.
-Not everyone can get a 16gb yet I guess.

Yeah...BOTHthe 8 and 16gb's! They left my laptop(s) sitting there...

We've called lost and found...they're taking their time getting back to us. I ripped the hotel room apart the day we left though, they werent in there.

Conversely...I have pics of them sitting on the bureau before we all went downstairs for the event....oh and there was champagne and cake in the room when we went back up after the event...so, go figure. F'ing hotel says they aren't responsible for lost or stolen items as they provide a safe.

So I'm currently harassing them for 10% off the bill anyways, because they forgot one minor detail...like the 24" riser platform the head table was supposed to be on . That 10% should more than cover some new pods...and an iphone or two

actually it was 18"...just a table riser, so we could actually SEE our guests. It was one of those things that no matter what we did then and there, we were pretty much stuck with it

NH I plan on mentioning the light out too, I forgot ALL about that

...16gb nano in the house again, went black on black this time in the hopes stealth may assist it in the future, dammit.

F'ing thieves.

A friend just got that black on black one, I really liked it.

If my ipod dies anytime soon, that is definitely the one I'll replace it with.

Hopefully no need for a while though.
