Adaptiv TPX Motorcycle specific radar detector.

This isn't a discussion about whether or not we all drive like fools, or require radar detectors....I use one anytime I can (Bel RX65) just so I have that little reminder when someone might be watching my speed. I make it a habit to drive as close to legal as possible but I know sometimes I don't pay attention and might get a bit spirited.

Anyways, was checking cyclegadgets.com and noticed they had this which seems like a decent system:

Adaptiv TPX Motorcycle Radar Detector

Anyone know someone that's used one of these yet?

Looks like an interesting system. Would be nice if, for that price, it came with a few of the "optional" accessories...at least one of the warning lights. Might be something to look into though.

Screw that thing. Legal Speeding v2 + Valentine One radar and laser detectors

You get that setup and you can fly

Wonder if you could adapt their wireless headset to a Valentine1.

Nah, the TPX is better. I've got one setup and it works like a charm. Saved my butt a few times for sure, too.

Better as in it's more accurate than a V1 or it's just more adaptable?

I'd think for convenience it smokes it, but Bel or V1 has the lock on early warning.

disclaimer: I got zero experience with the tpx, but if it were between bel and v1 I say bel is better. If you've got comparison I'd be interested.

Can't recall where I read it, but the TPX doesn't come close to the Bel or V1 as far as actual performance comparisons.

Not challenging you, but if you can find the source I'd love to read it. I've heard the same but yet to see it in print with someone that's actually tested it as I am really curious how they stack up.
The TPX unit is pretty awesome functionwise, it might be worth it if it were 75% as good as the Bel at least.

Never had a TPX but I owned a cheapy Bel and have borrowed a V1 on multiple occasions and both the Bel and V1 worked amazingly well.

The RX65 I have has been back to Bel twice - unfortunately for the same issue because they thought I don't know what Im talking about.

I would complain, but it's more than done it's job. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat, awesome awesome unit.
