It will even show you the speed limits on the road you're on there and your travelling speed will flash red when you're speeding. On my last trip, it even had the reduced speed limit of a construction area where they were repairing a bridge overpass. Doesn't do that in the US yet but based on the updates I've seen over the last year alone, it's taking over.

Slick, mine will start recalculating within the first hundred feet of making a wrong turn and has an updated route within about 30 seconds.
The Garmin that I had did all of that. It always popped the speed limit within 15 meters of the sign. If I hadn't been driving 100mph it probably would have popped up right at the sign. It also alerted me well in advance of road construction, accidents, and even a traffic jam caused by a broken down semi. My brother (a programmer) looked over the Garmin that I was using and said that it seemed to be the identical software package as the TomTom that he used. I had a pretty normal U.S. English female voice on mine that I didn't mind (there were a lot of choices). Mine honestly knew when I was pulled over 15 feet off the autobahn.

I can tell you that the 720 works pretty good. Miss a turn and it's fairly quick to let you know. I wouldn't call it instant but it's no slower than my old Garmin 2610.

For the price you guys just about have me convinced. That is quite a bit less than the Nuvi that I used sells for.

Like I said before...it's not as techie as the Garmin....meaning that it's more automated-like with less modifications or extra info. I hardly ever used all the extra info features on my Garmin so it's not really that big of a deal for me.

I used the Nuvi 780 and it has a few extra features over the 650 that I liked but I might go to Costco and see what they have.

Just got my latest TomTom email:

TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems
TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems

Like I noted earlier though, it's more advanced in Europe but it's quickly getting better in the US.
