Not this guy. The bike needs to be cleaned up from my Deal's Gap trip last week and an oil change(cage needs one too), plus there's a 50%+ chance of rain which means it'll likely pour most of the day.

WSBK is on for Sunday though.

What War Plane is your Motorcycle?

I watched a show on Discovery last night about warplanes and the age of jet power. They talked about the beginnings of the Cold War and the origin of the "interceptor" aircraft. The purpose of an interceptor was to scramble quickly, climb fast and shoot down enemy long-range bombers. Honda has long used this name for the VFR 750 and 800. Great name for a bike but I would equate that bike more with an all-weather all-purpose fighter like the A6 Intruder.

I liken my VFR1200 more to a "light bomber" or "fighter-bomber" like a F111 or 4 phantom. Big and heavy but fast and armed to the teeth. Or maybe a high-altitude reconaissance plane. If Honda had an aeronautical theme in mind with the CBR1100XX Blackbird, then they chose the perfect name IMO.

Modern supersports and superbikes have to be thought of as air superiority fighters. The S1000RR would represent the state-of-the-art, like a F22.

Feeler: 01 CBR929RR possibly for sale

I love this bike and the thought of even selling it kind of pains me but I have a possible line on a nice 07 CBR600RR.

would anyone be interested in buying it? I know a lot of you have or have had a 929 before so this probably isn't the best place. let me know if you think I'm way off on potential price.

roughly 27k maybe 28k miles, I'd have to go check. clear title in my possession.

have all street bodywork +undertail and lights (headlight doesn't work but I think its in the starter/kill switch wiring which I'd switch back to stock). good condition, only been dropped. never down at speed. tank has some scratches/scuffs over the right side Honda logo/wing. fender is missing both rear tabs but I have the pieces and there's a crack on one side. clear taillight bit I have the stock one too.
Hot Bodies track plastics that have been repaired by me a few times but look decent
Circuit1 billet stator cover
Barnett HD clutch springs
brand new stator and battery (old battery still good and included)
Sato full exhaust (dent in mid pipe and can)
PC3 with Custom tune
Sato Ti exhaust hanger
BMC street air filter
flapper removed
PAIR valve removed and blocked off
speedohealer
Sato rear sets (slightly bent right side and worn edge of peg)
Pazzo levers (brake scratched/worn on edge)
Forks fully revalved and sprung (.90s) with new pistons and new bushings by GMD Boston
Ohlins rear shock
HRC shock linkage
954 Swingarm (929 one included)
Helibars
Puig red DB windscreen
520 Chain/sprockets.
quick release seat pins
Ohlins steering damper
Galfer SS brakes lines
Signal Minder auto signal canceler

if I do sell it anyone here would be welcome to buy any part if its not someone here buying the bike.

$4500 for everything

I also have an extra rear rim that's been straightened and a set of 06 1000RR wheels that I've been using at the track the last couple years but stock wheels with good Pilot Powers will be on the bike.

Thank you for your suggestions.

FJR1300 vs. K1300GT

Strongly considering the addition (or perhaps VFR replacement) of a "Super-Sport Touring" bike, and thought I'd solicit views and comments from the MCADX folks. I think it's down to one of these two.

I really like the K1300GT, but the two biggest downers thus far are price (compared to the FJR) and lack of dealerships (in the event of breakdown in the middle of BFE). Average maintenance appear to be about twice the price, too. But it sure has a lot of nice extras.

The FJR1300, while not as fast, appears to shine better in the handling territory. Lots of dealers, lots of Internet info/help (e.g., forums, clubs), and starts about $5K less MSRP.

Would appreciate any thoughts or comments.

I have been having fits with Vapor Lock issues with the Busa for a little while now. So, I figured yall could help especially with a thermo genuis on board.

The bike runs great when cold or even hot for that matter, but when I am getting into traffic or stop for a bit the bike will either stall when cranked or not start at all. It will even die when going down the road just like it's out of gas, but it's not. ( I checked that NorthernRR). Other than ponying up the $$$$ for an 02 tank and pump what else could be done?

From 99 - 01 the Busa had an external fuel pump. 02 on they put the pump in the tank.
I have, from suggestions from previous owners done the following

1.Removed all 4 injector screens
2. Removed all screens and internal fuel filters in the fuel pump. (there is like 4 in there)
3. Installed an external in-line filter on the pressure side of the pump
4. Wrapped the pump with the OEM foam along with an aluminum backed felt material.
5. Wrapped one line from the tank to the pump. (tried to do both but kept kinking the line)
