I've been bikeless too long. It's a little like going to the grocery when you're starved, everything looks good.

eBay Motors: Ducati : Superbike (item 260162853378 end time Oct-01-07 19:30:00 PDT)

I've been watching this for a day or so. It's got lots of damage, including some ominous-looking bulging near the headtube where the forks evidently over-rotated and whacked the frame. And the oil cooler is clearly pushed back (see the kinks in those lines?). Since that mounts directly to the engine, probably not a good sign.

But the potential - oooh!

Talk me down before I do something I'll regret.

That bike took a helluva of a hit to the front. The forks and frame could be seriously phooked. I'd want to inspect it before making any bids. Than again, go for it you're a risk taker...

You need to see it in person so you can properly evaluate the damage. I've got 1098 fever too (thanks Whip you jerk!

With the evidence of frame damage I would pass on this one. Look at the pics of the red paint chipped on the frame, that is some serious damage that MAY be able to be fixed. Or it may not be, that is the chance you will be taking. if it were just the rim, swingarm, and oil cooler i would say go for it but with the frame damage, i would pass.

I don't know if it's gotten better but with Ducati's part availability you might be buying a bike you'll be able to finish rebuilding by the year 10,098.

Makes me sick to look at the damage to such a beautiful bike. Doesn't seem like that great a price to me considering what the damage could very well be. If you could physically inspect it first, maybe.
