It would probably not be a good idea to test ride one of those...

It's a quick and easy way to get to know your local law enforcement officers.

Re: Hypermotard - First Ride

Awesome bike!

Rhetorical question here: Why do guys on motards choose to wear MX helmets? It must be a "for the looks of it" thing. IMO it looks stupid.

Re: Hypermotard - First Ride

Probably style, but they have a couple of advantages over "street" helmets at low speeds. They flow more air, and the visor shields your eyes from the sun.

Re: Hypermotard - First Ride

Saw one of these "in the flesh" yesterday at the local dealer. Interesting bike. Remarkably small - I mean amazingly small. Narrow, and not very tall. Lots of trick bits, as you'd expect.

I'd sat on a KTM 950SM previously, and it felt like a giant bike, that would be fun, but a bit unwieldy to flick around. This bike is significantly smaller, but definitely seems that it would feel a lot more like a fun, quick, naked bike rather than a true supermoto like my SXV.

Re: Hypermotard - First Ride

The mx helmets serve a function on any SM course that has a dirt section. The mx helmet and goggles keep the dust out of your eyes, whereas the full face street helmet doesn't.
