Great looking bike.
Too bad you didn't post those on that other site first. I could have said I won it racing for pinks in my intro to this site. Now no one will believe me.

Re: Thought I'd share...

That is an awesome bike......

Buddy of mine had an 851, Fast by Ferracci. Had to give it up because of his back. Loved riding that bike.

Re: Thought I'd share...

Was that the premier bike before they came out with the 916?

Re: Thought I'd share...

Yep, that was the WSB platform before the 916 was released. The 888 was an evolution from the 851.

Re: Thought I'd share...

I've seen them sell for as low as $6k, and others for 10k+. I guess it all depends on the condition. The 1994 888 SPO LTD had a production run of 100 units, not sure about the 1993.

Re: Thought I'd share...

They had to make 400 street models for WSB homologation. They built 200 in 1993, and 200 in 1994. The last 100 were the numbered "LTD" ones. Doug Polen won the WSB championship both years. Raymond Roche did well on it, as did Foggy before going to the 916. It was one of the winningest bikes made (% of wins to races entered).
