Roland Sands Hypermotard

I went to the Dallas Motorcycle Show this weekend with Yamasuzi who's visiting with his better half. We had a blast. The one bike which impressed me was this one. (Granted the rims are a bit over the top but that could be easily fixed.)

I also wanted to see the KTM 690 sm R but they're sold out in the USA until next year. The 690 smc is beautiful and it would be my next bike if I could afford it.

The main attraction for me was the Roland Sands Hypermotard, no doubt.

As with any custom, I really do appreciate the work they put into the bikes - but this on just has too many drawbacks to make me drool.

+1 on the wheels.

While the workmanship is on the exhaust is cool, I can't get behind it. Same goes for the single front brake.

I don't think that the tires have enough knobbies on them for the way you've ridden lately...

Yeah, that too. Still, I must say I considered dropping the bike so they made me buy it...

That's kinda weird. You've got a beautiful woman and then your paying attention to dumb accessories? Frenchies are very weird.

Most custom bikes are based on long-stretched cruisers, which I really don't like. This one is based on one of the best designs I've seen lately, the Hypermotard. Yeah, you're right when you say it might have a few draw backs, but it's a beautifully handicapped supermoto marvel, IMO.
It's been a few years since I've felt motivated to ride just by looking at a bike. I'm not talking about track riding, but just getting on the bike just because I feel like it and take off with no destination in mind, even if only for a few hours.
But lately, I've been pleasantly surprised with a few models, new or just updated. For example the Hypermotard, or the KTM 690 SM R, or the BMW prototype we've talked about recently here. Seems like some designs are awakening my need to ride again.
